Bai Liluo led Chu Feng onward for a long time before finally stopping deep within a mountain range.
This mountain range was utterly barren — not a single blade of grass or tree could be found. As far as the eye could see, every peak and valley was blanketed in ice and snow.
A fierce gale howled through the mountains, whipping snow across the sky in every direction. Even a cultivator of Chu Feng's caliber, upon landing here, would feel a bone-piercing chill seep into his body.
The cold was so extreme that even cultivators could hardly endure it. No wonder there wasn't a trace of life to be found anywhere.
"Welcome to the most dangerous place in the entire Eastern Region — the Ice Sealed Forbidden Realm."
Bai Liluo spread her arms wide and looked toward Chu Feng. The words she spoke made it clear that this place was extraordinarily perilous, yet her expression was one of pure excitement.
"So what exactly is here?" Chu Feng asked.
"What's here will definitely interest you. But you'll need to help me in order to get it."
"That said, your spirit arts still have room for improvement. So… I've decided to give you your reward for helping me first, and then let me ask for your help. Otherwise… I'm afraid you probably wouldn't be much use to me."
When Bai Liluo reached this point, her smile took on a meaningful quality. Then she simply pointed downward.
BOOM— The glacier beneath her feet began to collapse. A bottomless chasm opened up at the very summit of the mountain.
"Follow me."
With a light leap, Bai Liluo's slender figure dropped straight into the abyss.
Without a moment's hesitation, Chu Feng followed right after her, plunging in as well.
He wasn't the least bit afraid that Bai Liluo would harm him. If she had wanted to hurt him, she could have made her move long ago — during the journey here, or even back outside the main city when the Qingyu Clan had been ready to deal with him.
So despite having known Bai Liluo for only a short time and still knowing very little about her, Chu Feng trusted this girl completely.
The chasm was incredibly deep, stretching far down into the depths of the earth. Even at the speeds Chu Feng and Bai Liluo were traveling, it took quite some time before their feet finally touched the ground.
The instant they landed, Chu Feng's heart rate picked up. He scanned his surroundings with cautious eyes, and even he — a man who normally faced death with perfect composure — felt a flicker of tension.
He stood in utter darkness ahead. Even his Heavenly Eyes couldn't pierce through it — it was a darkness beyond penetration.
And from within that darkness, countless sounds echoed without cease: Miserable wailing.
Sorrowful sobbing.
Enraged roaring.
The wet, grinding sounds of something chewing on its prey.
And the screech of sharp claws raking across stone walls.
Chu Feng could even feel an aura pressing down on him — one that made every hair on his body stand on end and made him feel that his very life was under threat.
In this moment, Chu Feng had only one thought: hidden within that darkness ahead were countless creatures far more powerful than himself, any one of which could tear him to shreds and take his life.
It was only now that Chu Feng truly understood why Bai Liluo had called this the most dangerous place in the entire Eastern Region.
"What are you spacing out for? Keep up."
Just as Chu Feng stood there frozen, Bai Liluo's voice drifted toward him from the darkness.
