This matter was orchestrated by Chu Hongyi.
Simply put, during a cultivation training session conducted alongside the Dongguo Heavenly Clan, Chu Hongyi had led members of the Chu Heavenly Clan to seize cultivation resources that did not belong to them.
This angered the Dongguo Heavenly Clan. They demanded that Chu Hongyi admit his wrongdoing.
But Chu Hongyi not only denied everything — he insisted he had done nothing wrong.
His conduct thoroughly enraged the Dongguo Heavenly Clan.
The Dongguo Heavenly Clan declared that either Chu Feng or Chu Hongyi must kneel and apologize. Otherwise, from that point forward, within the Ancestral Martial Cultivation Realm, they would no longer have anything to do with the Chu Heavenly Clan.
And so the Chu Heavenly Clan was abandoned by the Dongguo Heavenly Clan, gradually declining to their current wretched state.
"That Chu Hongyi again — he really is nothing but a disaster." Upon hearing this, Chu Huoyan couldn't help but curse.
"Actually, the newcomers don't know about this because Chu Hongyi forbade anyone from speaking of it."
"But those of us who have been cultivating in the Ancestral Martial Cultivation Realm for a long time — we've always resented this. After all, without the Dongguo Heavenly Clan's care and protection, our Chu Heavenly Clan has been suffering terribly in the Ancestral Martial Cultivation Realm."
"The problem is, because of Chu Hongyi's cultivation, people have been angry but too afraid to speak up. They could only swallow their grievances."
"But now, I think we need to take the initiative and seek reconciliation with the Dongguo Heavenly Clan." Chu Ping said.
"Brother Chu Ping, you want me to go and propose reconciliation?" Chu Feng asked.
"The one who tied the bell must untie it. Back then, the Dongguo Heavenly Clan never gave Chu Hongyi a hard time — they didn't even lay a hand on him. They simply hoped he would admit his mistake on his own."
"Moreover, the implication of their words was that as long as Chu Hongyi was willing to admit his error, they would be willing to continue looking after our clan." Chu Ping explained.
"So it's just an apology? Nothing more?" Chu Huanyu asked.
"Yes, a voluntary apology is all that's needed. Of course… if Chu Hongyi himself refuses, it would also be acceptable for someone within our clan to force him to apologize. But it must be someone from our Chu Heavenly Clan who steps forward — the Dongguo Heavenly Clan will absolutely not resort to force." Chu Ping clarified.
"Just an apology, and yet this Chu Hongyi actually refuses. He's got quite the spine, I'll give him that." Chu Huoyan remarked with a sigh.
"A spine? In my eyes, he only has the courage to stand up to allied clans. When it comes to hostile factions, he probably curls up tighter than a frightened turtle." Chu Huanyu was unimpressed.
And at Chu Huanyu's words, Chu Ping wore a bitter smile.
That look of utter helplessness only confirmed that what Chu Huanyu had said was the truth.
