"Sister Lingxi, this isn't just my word alone. Ruoshi here can testify, these two brothers can testify, and the injuries on our bodies can testify as well." Chu Zhiyuan explained.
"That's impossible. Chu Feng would never do such a thing. You're framing him. You've ganged up to frame him."
Chu Lingxi screamed frantically, her voice radiating absolute fury. She simply refused to believe that Chu Feng would do such a thing, and instead insisted that Chu Zhiyuan and the others were framing him.
"The facts are right here, yet you insist on arguing."
"Lingxi, you're being completely unreasonable, throwing a tantrum over nothing." Chu Ruoshi scolded Chu Lingxi.
"Facts?"
"Now that Chu Feng isn't here, whatever the four of you say goes — and you call that a fact?"
Chu Lingxi sneered coldly, not believing a single word that Chu Ruoshi and the others said.
"Whether you believe it or not, these are the facts." Chu Ruoshi said.
"Your character — how could I possibly believe you?" Chu Lingxi sneered again and again.
Chu Ruoshi was not about to back down either, and the two went back and forth, arguing endlessly.
"Cough, cough, cough, cough…"
Suddenly, the two juniors whose bodies had been possessed by the two Supreme Elders began violently coughing up mouthfuls of blood.
The two of them then turned to look at Chu Lingxi simultaneously and spoke: "Chu Lingxi, I know that even though we are of the same clan, in your eyes we are worse than pigs and dogs, and our lives mean nothing to you whatsoever."
"But a dying man's words are sincere. These injuries were left by Chu Feng, and our deaths are because of Chu Feng. There is no reason for us to lie about this."
After speaking, the two turned to all the people present and said: "Honored elders, brothers and sisters of our clan — although Chu Feng has already met his end and perished within the Nine Moon Divine Domain, our grudge remains unavenged."
"We must let everyone know what kind of person Chu Feng truly is — how despicable he was, how shameless, how utterly selfish."
"Honored elders, brothers and sisters, cough…"
"You must seek justice for us."
"Cough… ah… cough…"
After these words, the two began to cough violently, blood spraying from their mouths in great mouthfuls. Before long, their bodies slumped to the side, and the breath of life left them.
They were dead. In truth, they had been dead for some time. The ones who had been speaking were the grandfathers of Chu Haoyan and Chu Zhiyuan — the two Supreme Elders. After delivering those words, they used a special technique to silently depart from the two juniors' bodies. Once they left, the two juniors naturally died completely.
"Chu Lingxi, did you see that?"
"Those two were our kin! They died horribly at Chu Feng's hands, and yet you still want to defend that Chu Feng? Do you have any conscience left? Are you even still a member of the Chu Heavenly Clan?"
Chu Ruoshi pointed at Chu Lingxi and scolded.
"Lingxi, don't blame your brother for saying this — you've truly been bewitched by Chu Feng. You can no longer tell black from white. You've lost the ability to judge right from wrong." Chu Zhiyuan added as well.
These two played off each other perfectly — one playing the good cop, the other the bad — working in tandem to push back against Chu Lingxi.
Under these circumstances, many of the Chu Heavenly Clan's juniors were filled with resentment of their own.
They took the words of the two dead juniors at face value, because they felt that people on the verge of death had no further gain to be had and thus could not have been bought off by Chu Zhiyuan and Chu Ruoshi.
So they believed what those two had said was the truth — that Chu Feng's true nature was indeed that of a thoroughly contemptible person.
And after those two juniors died, the hatred toward Chu Feng among the crowd only intensified further.
