"Heavens, it's Chu Feng — it's actually Chu Feng?!"
"He killed the Young City Lord and Yuwen Hualong!!!"
"Impossible — that's impossible!"
"How did he manage it? How did he get in?"
"Could this be fake? Is it some kind of prank?"
For a moment, everyone was buzzing with speculation. Many found it impossible to believe that Chu Feng could have gotten inside, and even if he had, that he could have gone undetected.
Some even insisted that this wasn't really Yuwen Tingyi and Yuwen Hualong at all — that it was nothing more than a prank.
However, experts like Yuwen Yanhong could tell at a single glance that this was no fake. That was his son, Yuwen Tingyi, and his disciple, Yuwen Hualong.
"AHHH!!!!!!!!!!"
"Chu Feng! I will tear you to pieces!"
Without warning, Yuwen Yanhong let out another furious roar. The force of it shook the very foundations of the Yuwen Clan's main city.
After that roar, Yuwen Yanhong charged out of the city like a madman, frantically searching for any trace of Chu Feng.
But to no avail. No matter how he searched, he found nothing.
Chu Feng had already departed long ago. By now, he was well on his way to the Void Divine Tree.
…………
After a stretch of travel, Chu Feng was drawing ever closer to the Void Divine Tree.
Along the way, he encountered many people. Supreme powerhouses of unfathomable strength streaked past him in the blink of an eye — so fast that Chu Feng couldn't even catch sight of their figures, only feeling the overwhelming aura that had briefly enveloped him.
There were also grand convoys, their war chariots filling the sky and banners fluttering in the wind, sweeping past in magnificent procession. They were imposing and imperious, and upon encountering such forces, most lone cultivators scrambled to get out of the way, not daring to offend them.
Along the way, Chu Feng had seen — or at least sensed — every manner of formidable existence.
And he knew that all of them shared his destination. They were all heading for the Void Divine Tree.
Just as Ma Changchun had said, the anomaly of the Void Divine Tree had indeed set the entire Great Thousand Upper Realm roiling like a tidal wave. It seemed that the forces of every faction were converging upon it.
However, perhaps because Chu Feng had activated a disguise array to alter his appearance into that of an aged elder, even though he was traveling at the cultivation level of a fourth-tier True Immortal, not a single person who passed him gave him a second thought. Many didn't even glance his way.
But Chu Feng knew full well that if he had shown his true face, plenty of people would have looked at him in an entirely different light.
That was the Great Thousand Upper Realm for you — an old man who had cultivated for decades, possessing only the strength of a fourth-tier True Immortal, would be looked down upon.
But a young junior not yet a hundred years old with the same fourth-tier True Immortal cultivation? That would draw everyone's astonishment.
That was the Great Thousand Upper Realm — brutally realistic and utterly unforgiving.
Right now, Chu Feng was still making his way forward, but he was no longer alone.
Not far from him, another old man was traveling in the same direction.
This old man's cultivation exceeded Chu Feng's — he was a True Immortal — but he wasn't pushing his speed, so he was effectively keeping pace alongside Chu Feng.
"Fellow Daoist, you must be heading for the Void Divine Tree as well?" the old man said to Chu Feng.
"That's right. I heard that a young man has appeared inside the Void Divine Tree — somehow within its barrier — so I thought I'd go see for myself," Chu Feng replied in the manner of an elderly man.
"What a coincidence! So am I," the old man said with a hearty laugh.
And so the two of them strolled along toward the Void Divine Tree, chatting idly as they went.
Their conversation revolved entirely around the Void Divine Tree. For the most part, it was the old man doing the talking while Chu Feng listened.
But as they walked, a vast expanse of white fog suddenly materialized ahead of them. At first, Chu Feng paid it little mind — but the fog was strangely unnatural. It could obscure even his vision, and not even his Heavenly Eyes could penetrate it.
Under these conditions, his visible range was shrinking rapidly.
Chu Feng realized something was wrong. He had a nagging feeling — as if they might never find their way out of this fog.
"Oh no… could we have walked into the Divine Tree's Phantom Fog?"
