"It's not impossible, but speculating now won't get us anywhere. You'd be better off waiting until your strength is sufficient, then coming back here and venturing deeper. That way, you'll have your answer," the Queen said.
"That makes sense. That's actually what I was thinking too. Eggy, tell me — why do we always think of the same things at the same time? Could it be that legendary phenomenon, a meeting of minds?" Chu Feng said with a grin.
"Tch! My brilliant intelligence is more than double yours. Don't compare minds with me," Eggy pouted, her beautiful eyes rolling upward in a look of utter disdain.
"Heh heh." Chu Feng chuckled foolishly again. Every time he got even the tiniest advantage over the Queen, it made him genuinely happy.
"Oh right, Eggy, there's one more thing." Suddenly, Chu Feng seemed to have remembered something important.
"What now?" the Queen asked.
"When I broke through to the Dragon Vein level of Spirit World Master, I felt the summoning of a spirit world being," Chu Feng said.
"What? The summoning of a spirit world being — you mean a being from the Asura Spirit World wanted to follow you?" the Queen asked, clearly shocked.
It was indeed surprising. Normally, it was the Spirit World Master who summoned the spirit world beings. It was exceedingly rare to hear of a spirit world being summoning its Spirit World Master.
After all, if a Spirit World Master didn't summon a spirit world being, that being wouldn't even know the Spirit World Master existed.
"I think... it probably... maybe... wanted to follow me? Otherwise, why would it summon me?" Chu Feng said.
"Did you sense its strength? If it was powerful, why didn't you just summon it over directly?" the Queen asked.
"I didn't have time to sense much more before the summoning faded. But honestly, regardless of its strength, I have no interest in it. I feel that having you, my Queen, is more than enough," Chu Feng said.
"Don't flatter yourself. If it could help you, I wouldn't mind at all if you summoned other spirit world beings."
"Seriously though, I think you should try summoning other spirit world beings at this point, Chu Feng. You should know that the beings of our Asura Spirit World are overwhelmingly powerful."
"If you could summon one with a cultivation above your own, it could become a tremendous asset on your martial cultivation path."
"Even if it grows too slowly in the future, you can always break the contract and summon a different one. That's what most Spirit World Masters do," the Queen said.
"But..." Chu Feng still hesitated.
His very first spirit world being had been the Queen. Without her help along the way, Chu Feng wouldn't have made it to where he was today — he might well have been dead long ago.
Of course, as his spirit world techniques had grown stronger, Chu Feng's Spirit World Space had expanded considerably as well.
Now, forget about housing just a few spirit world beings — he could comfortably hold tens of thousands.
But to Chu Feng, his Spirit World Space was essentially the Queen's home.
He didn't want other spirit world beings sharing that space with her.
And he understood what the Queen was saying. Spirit world beings chose whether or not to follow a Spirit World Master based on that master's capabilities.
True, spirit world beings could absorb the origin energy of martial cultivators to enhance their strength. But a cultivator couldn't just go around slaughtering people all day to feed their spirit world being. Besides, killing the weak produced weak origin energy that was practically useless to a spirit world being.
This led to a common situation: even if a spirit world being that was initially summoned was immensely powerful — possibly even stronger than the Spirit World Master themselves — if the master grew too quickly, as Chu Feng tended to do, the spirit world being would eventually be surpassed.
Once that happened, the spirit world being became essentially useless, and the master would be unwilling to waste any more time and energy on it.
Under such circumstances, the Spirit World Master would dissolve the contract, cast the weakened being back into the spirit world, and summon a more powerful one in its place.
It was a cruel practice, but one that most Spirit World Masters engaged in.
After all, for the majority of them, spirit world beings were merely a tool for enhancing their spirit world techniques.
But Chu Feng was different. He treated spirit world beings as friends. He could not bring himself to abandon one, nor could he bring himself to summon another being solely to exploit its strength for his own advancement on the martial path.
"Chu Feng, I'm being serious. Your spirit world techniques are formidable, and your talent is even more so. I believe... with your talent, you could summon a being even more powerful than yourself."
"You shouldn't waste this talent. After all, it was inherited from your mother."
"For so long now, you've been relying on the talent inherited from your father to grow."
"But I think it's time you used the talent inherited from your mother to protect yourself."
"And besides, you are a Spirit World Master. In all this time, you've never once proactively summoned a spirit world being. Don't you... want to experience the feeling of summoning a spirit world being — of communicating with a life from another world?" the Queen urged him earnestly.
Anything that was beneficial to Chu Feng, she supported unconditionally — even encouraged.
