Rumble—
Just then, a thunderous boom suddenly erupted from behind Chu Feng.
He turned to look, and his brows furrowed. It was another wall — identical to the one blocking his path ahead.
The difference was that this wall had sealed off his retreat.
But this only confirmed that the wall before him and the wall behind him were both mechanisms.
"What does this mean?" the Queen asked, a look of confusion in her eyes.
Both walls were far beyond anything Chu Feng could break through. The walls on either side, the stone slabs beneath his feet, the ceiling above — all were equally indestructible, beyond the reach of his current strength.
The situation before him was simple: he couldn't move forward, and he couldn't move back. Chu Feng was trapped here.
"That must be the reason," Chu Feng said, directing his gaze toward a corner of the wall.
To the naked eye, there was nothing there. But when Chu Feng activated his Heavenly Eyes, an object materialized in the spot that had appeared completely empty.
"Isn't that a teleportation formation?" the Queen's eyes lit up immediately.
Because the item sitting in that corner was identical to the teleportation formation embedded in Chu Feng's palm — except it was in its original form, before being fused into his palm.
"Did Zhao Hong leave it here?" the Queen asked.
"This item was placed here and concealed behind a hidden barrier, clearly because someone was afraid it would be discovered and taken. And within that hidden formation, I can sense Zhao Hong's aura — it was indeed her doing," Chu Feng said.
"So now we know why Zhao Hong didn't use the teleportation formation to escape this Unknown Burial Ground despite being severely wounded. She had already extracted the formation and placed it here — there was no way for her to use it even if she wanted to," the Queen said.
"A brave one's journey admits no retreat — so that's what it meant."
Chu Feng looked again at the eight large characters inscribed on the wall, and a bitter smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
Chu Feng now understood how to press forward. But to do so, he would have to give something up. What he needed to sacrifice was the teleportation formation in his palm.
After all, the meaning inscribed on the wall was clear: to advance, one could not leave oneself an escape route. And the teleportation formation capable of sending Chu Feng out of here was, without question, his greatest means of retreat.
As Chu Feng spoke, he extended his finger, and waves of barrier power began to pour into the palm where the teleportation formation had been embedded.
As the barrier power surged in, the teleportation formation — which had been branded into his palm like a tattoo — began to squirm, as though it were trying to wriggle its way out of his hand.
"Chu Feng, are you really going to do this?" the Queen asked.
"It seems there's no other choice," Chu Feng said.
"Sigh."
The Queen let out a sigh, one heavy with resignation. Because as Chu Feng had said, there truly seemed to be no other option.
"What if someone is guarding this place? Otherwise, how would they know you had a teleportation formation on you?" the Queen mused.
"Who knows? Once I go in, the answer will reveal itself," Chu Feng replied with a faint smile.
In truth, he too felt helpless. The initiative was entirely in the other party's hands, and Chu Feng had been placed in a position of absolute passivity.
While the two of them talked, the teleportation formation that had been fused into Chu Feng's palm was fully extracted, returning to its physical form once more.
Rumble—
Almost simultaneously, the two walls blocking Chu Feng's path — one ahead and one behind — began to slowly descend, soon vanishing entirely.
As expected, Chu Feng's guess had been correct. Once the teleportation formation was removed, the walls sealing off the passage would disappear.
Though his guess had been right, Chu Feng felt only greater resignation. It proved that he was indeed being manipulated by the other party.
Chu Feng then placed the teleportation formation beside Zhao Hong's and set up a similar hidden barrier to conceal it.
After that, Chu Feng continued onward, and this time he moved even faster.
He had come to realize that this corridor seemed to stretch on without end. If he didn't pick up the pace, there was no telling how long it would take to find any trace of Zhao Hong.
Rumble—
However, before long, another thunderous boom erupted from behind Chu Feng, and yet another wall appeared, blocking his path to the rear.
"Now there really is no turning back," Chu Feng said, a bitter smile escaping his lips.
This wall clearly had no intention of descending. That meant Chu Feng could only continue forward — even if he wanted to go back now, he couldn't.
