Boom—
Suddenly, a tremendous ripple of energy erupted from within the mud monster's body. The force was so great that even Wang Qiang, Zhao Hong, and Kong Sheng were blown back, stumbling repeatedly.
"Oh no! That Hundred-Refined Emerald Stone actually contained such powerful energy. If that thing has fully refined it, it won't be able to withstand it — its body might explode!"
Chu Feng had been observing the mud monster with his Heavenly Eyes the entire time. Earlier, he hadn't been able to see through it clearly, but once the mud monster had refined the Hundred-Refined Emerald Stone, Chu Feng could sense a colossal surge of energy churning within its body.
Though the energy was inside the mud monster's body and Chu Feng couldn't analyze it in precise detail, he could feel just how terrifying it was. It had already exceeded what the mud monster's body could endure. If this continued, the mud monster would likely explode and perish.
"Husband, Chu Feng — fall back quickly! That mud monster can't withstand that power. If its body explodes, we'll all be caught in it!" Zhao Hong shouted. Even as she spoke, she had already seized Wang Qiang and Chu Feng, retreating at full speed. She had clearly noticed everything as well.
Despite knowing the danger, all three of them still wanted to keep observing for a while longer. Chu Feng, in particular, was extremely curious about the mud monster's identity. After all, according to what he knew, only someone of the Chu Heavenly Clan should have been able to lift the Hundred-Refined Emerald Stone.
Chu Feng couldn't help but wonder whether this mud monster had some kind of connection to the Chu Heavenly Clan — or perhaps it truly was powerful enough to simply disregard the stone's power and forcibly lift it.
But most importantly, the power contained within the Hundred-Refined Emerald Stone had supposedly been drained long ago when the Hundred Refinements Arena was first created. How could it still possess such terrifying energy?
What exactly was this thing?
How had it known the emerald stone held such power?
And what did it intend to do with that power?
Countless questions swirled in Chu Feng's mind. He desperately wanted answers to all of them.
And so, although the three of them had retreated, once they reached a distance they considered relatively safe, they stopped and continued to observe.
Whoosh—
Kong Sheng also flew over and landed beside the three of them.
"Wh-why are you following us? Scram... scram already!" Wang Qiang shot Kong Sheng an annoyed glance.
"You're allowed to watch the show, but I'm not?" Kong Sheng returned the glare.
"It needs to find a way to cope. Otherwise, it won't hold out much longer." Chu Feng kept his gaze fixed on the mud monster.
Perhaps it was because this mud monster might share some connection with the Chu Heavenly Clan, but as it found itself on the brink between life and death — likely to perish at any moment — Chu Feng actually found himself hoping it would survive.
Splash—
But just then, the mud monster suddenly dove into the depths of the Drought Demon's Dead Pool.
Hummm—
The next instant, a visible radiance began to emanate from the depths of the pool, dazzling and extraordinarily brilliant.
"That's a formation — an astonishing formation! It seems to have prepared for everything in advance. This was all part of its meticulous plan; it already had countermeasures in place," Zhao Hong exclaimed in astonishment.
"The formation is indeed impressive — not the work of an ordinary Spirit World Master. However... the energy from the Hundred-Refined Emerald Stone is simply too powerful. Even this formation may not be able to contain it," Chu Feng said.
Boom—
The moment Chu Feng's words left his lips, a thunderous explosion suddenly roared from that section of the water.
The next instant, waves surged and shot skyward as an absolutely terrifying ripple of energy swept outward in every direction.
"Move! Now!"
Zhao Hong didn't hesitate for a second. She grabbed Wang Qiang and Chu Feng and fled into the distance at top speed.
Kong Sheng activated his Thunder Armor and Thunder Wings in an instant, accelerating away at full velocity.
The ripple was far too terrifying. Even though they believed they had already reached a safe distance, the explosive wave that erupted now still—
