Master Kaihong had achieved so much in his lifetime not only because of his extraordinary talent, but also because he was a man blessed with tremendous fortune.
Throughout his life, he had encountered countless opportunities and received the legacies of numerous predecessors and great experts, which had ultimately led to the status and strength he possessed.
And now, Master Kaihong had passed on all of his lifelong knowledge of formation arts, as well as his experience, to Chu Feng and the other two. For the three of them, this was naturally of immense benefit.
Hummmm—
However, just as Chu Feng and the others were performing their deep bows of gratitude, Master Kaihong's body suddenly began to change. His once intact physical form fragmented and ultimately transformed into streams of light resembling fireflies, which then reassembled into the shape of a coffin.
This coffin was quite ordinary, and with just a bit of effort, Chu Feng and the others could see that inside lay a skeleton.
The skeleton was perfectly intact and gleamed with radiance. It was a supreme treasure, for it was the remains of Master Kaihong — the remains of a Martial Immortal powerhouse.
"Wow, his origin energy is perfectly preserved! Chu Feng, if I could refine it, my cultivation would definitely advance quite a bit." The Queen's voice dripped with desire as she stared at Master Kaihong's remains, licking her lips like a hungry child — the sight was oddly adorable.
"Your Majesty, I'm afraid I can't let you absorb Master Kaihong's origin energy. Otherwise, I would be acting without righteousness or honor," Chu Feng said to her quietly.
"I know. That's why I only said it as a passing comment. Setting aside the fact that you yourself would never let me refine it, even that Zhao Hong and that stutterer probably wouldn't allow it either. If you forced them to let me absorb Master Kaihong's origin energy, they'd probably look down on both of us."
"I may want to advance my cultivation quickly, but I don't want you to be scorned by your friends," the Queen added.
"My Egg really is so sensible," Chu Feng said with a grin.
"Tch~~" The Queen pouted her little lips and then closed her eyes, as though she didn't dare look at Master Kaihong's remains any longer.
"Chu Feng, Master Kaihong divided his lifelong knowledge of formation arts into three portions. From what I can tell, the formations each of us received are all different," Zhao Hong said.
"Th-th-that's what we need to figure out, isn't it? Let's just compare and see," Wang Qiang said. As he spoke, he sketched out a formation diagram in midair.
It was an offensive killing formation of considerable power.
"I don't have this one," Zhao Hong said.
"Neither do I," Chu Feng added.
"What about this one?" As he spoke, Chu Feng too sketched out a formation diagram of his own.
"Nope." Both Wang Qiang and Zhao Hong shook their heads.
"It seems Master Kaihong really did split his entire repertoire of formations into three parts and distribute them among us three. The formations each of us has mastered must all be different," Chu Feng said.
"This ol'—old man sure was a crafty one," Wang Qiang said, smacking his lips.
Both Chu Feng and Zhao Hong understood what he meant.
People all had selfishness in them, especially when it came to precious things — no one was willing to share them with others.
And Master Kaihong's legacy was clearly of extreme value to Spirit World Masters, perhaps even more precious than one's own life.
If the three people standing here today had not been Chu Feng and his companions, but rather three selfish individuals, then those three most certainly would not have fully shared the formations they had each obtained with the others. That would have meant Master Kaihong's legacy could never have been passed down in its entirety.
But Chu Feng and his companions were clearly not selfish people. So as long as the three of them were willing to share the formations they had each obtained, they could all receive Master Kaihong's complete legacy.
"Consider this a test as well — one that would be the hardest for anyone else to pass. A test of the heart."
"Only for the three of us, it seems to pose no difficulty at all," Zhao Hong said.
She spoke with great confidence — not only in herself, but in her trust in Chu Feng and Wang Qiang. The moment those words left her mouth, she knew that both Chu Feng and Wang Qiang would be willing to share the formations they had obtained with her.
"L-l-lady… I mean, wife — does that mean you're willing to share the legacy you received?" Wang Qiang asked with a grin.
