"Oh?"
Hearing the Golden Crane's words, a curious voice suddenly came from beside him.
It was none other than the cloth-robed monk Chu Feng had encountered in the Darknight Ghost Forest that day.
The cloth-robed monk had been meditating with his eyes closed, but upon hearing what the Golden Crane said, he shifted his gaze toward where the Golden Crane was looking.
"That's him?" A look of surprise suddenly flickered through the old monk's eyes.
Hummm— After hearing the old monk's words, the Golden Crane True Immortal's body suddenly transformed, morphing into the appearance of a glittering golden elder.
Golden robes, golden hair, golden beard, golden eyebrows—even his skin was golden. And those golden eyes, in particular, were remarkably spirited.
Standing there, he radiated golden light in every direction, dazzling to behold. He was the master of this Cloud Crane Mountain, the renowned Golden Crane True Immortal.
"Old Poison, you know that brat?" the Golden Crane True Immortal asked the cloth-robed monk.
"We've crossed paths once. This boy's origins are far from ordinary, but I'm not at liberty to tell you about them," the cloth-robed monk said.
"So you're going to keep me in suspense," the Golden Crane True Immortal said with a pout. "Even if you don't tell me, I have no interest in knowing."
"Golden Crane, I hear you came to this Hundred Refinements Ordinary Realm specifically to find a disciple to whom you can pass on everything you've learned over your lifetime."
"And in my opinion, this Chu Feng would be quite suitable," the cloth-robed monk said.
"This Chu Feng is talented, no doubt, but only in the art of formations. Being an Asura Spirit World Master is indeed rare, but my primary legacy is in martial cultivation, so he wouldn't be a good fit," the Golden Crane True Immortal said.
"In terms of martial cultivation, this Chu Feng might still give you a pleasant surprise," the cloth-robed monk said.
"That's doubtful. I've seen plenty of geniuses like him, but very few of them actually make it in the end."
"I don't have time to waste on a brat like that," the Golden Crane True Immortal said.
"But the one you've set your sights on doesn't seem very willing to cooperate," the cloth-robed monk said.
Hearing this, the Golden Crane True Immortal's gaze shifted slightly, but soon a confident curve tugged at the corner of his lips. "That brat may be a bit rebellious, but sooner or later I will bring him to heel and make him my disciple."
…………
Meanwhile, under Chu Feng's relentless assault, the purple mist was growing thinner and thinner.
Finally, it was completely blown apart. And once the purple mist dissipated, a shimmering golden formation wall emerged.
This formation wall was naturally a defensive barrier. It was formidable in its own right—this was what had wounded the Zhou Heavenly Clan and the numerous Spirit World Masters.
But without the purple mist, the defensive formation's power had weakened considerably, and its flaws were now fully exposed.
So there was no need for Chu Feng to act at all. The Four Spirit World Emperors easily broke through this formation wall.
Once the wall was breached, an impossibly deep cliff face stretching to the other side—its end completely invisible—materialized before them.
No one could have imagined that atop Cloud Crane Mountain there would exist such a colossal cliff, vast beyond measure and bottomless to the eye.
And most importantly, floating above the cliff were fully over two hundred hovering islands, each one completely different from the rest.
The sight was nothing short of magnificent.
"Oh my god, am I dreaming?!"
"This is an absolute treasure trove! It seems the Golden Crane Immortal hasn't been stingy with us at all. Sure, he set up that purple mist as a trial, but he's also prepared a reward like this."
