"You think you can slack off, Jiang Wushuang? Instead of mining properly, you're just standing around doing nothing. You're asking for a beating."
Crack— At that moment, the sound of a whip rang out, and a powerful lash descended from the sky, striking straight toward Jiang Wushuang's head.
The force behind that whip was so tremendous that it actually tore through the air. Had it connected, with Jiang Wushuang's cultivation, it would have ripped his flesh open and left him a bloody mess.
The instant that whip lashed out, Chu Feng understood why Jiang Wushuang was mining here yet still bore those horrifying scars all over his body. It had to be the work of these people.
Fury erupted within Chu Feng. He raised his hand and caught the whip midair, then flung it back with all his strength. With a deafening boom, the person holding the whip was slammed violently into the mine.
BOOM— The impact shook the very mine beneath them. Such a commotion drew the attention of countless people nearby, many of whom set down their mining picks and turned to look toward Chu Feng.
"Who the hell do you think you are? How dare you hit me?!" That man was stronger than Jiang Wushuang — a Third Level Half-Emperor — but he was no match for Chu Feng whatsoever. That single throw had dealt him a devastating blow.
Though he was still shouting, the blood pouring from his mouth refused to stop.
"Remember this. My name is Chu Feng," Chu Feng said.
"Chu Feng? Never heard of you. When did you get here?" The man struggled to his feet through the pain, his face contorted with rage.
"You truly are ignorant. This is the Chu Feng who swept through the juniors of the four great Imperial Clans in Moonworshipping Cloud City and conquered the Evil God Sword. Remember that — he's my, Jiang Wushuang's, sworn brother." Jiang Wushuang pointed at Chu Feng with undisguised pride.
"What? He's Chu Feng?!!!" The words sent a shockwave through the crowd. Every gaze fixed on Chu Feng became a mixture of terror and disbelief.
They had been confined here to cultivate and had never gone outside, so while they had never seen Chu Feng's wanted poster, they knew of his exploits. His name had long been like thunder in their ears — they knew he was one of the most formidable juniors out there.
And now, seeing him in person, the rumors clearly hadn't been exaggerated. He had even dared to strike the whip-wielder here — something no one else had ever had the guts to do.
"You… you just wait!" Having learned Chu Feng's identity, the arrogant Third Level Half-Emperor was thoroughly frightened now. He staggered away, limping and stumbling as fast as he could.
"Chu Feng, this is bad — he's gone to get help. You need to leave. Now," Jiang Wushuang urged quickly.
"Get help? Would that be Song Yuheng?" Chu Feng asked.
"Yes. They're all Song Yuheng's lackeys, following his orders to make my life miserable here," Jiang Wushuang said.
"Good. I've been wanting to have a word with this Song Yuheng," Chu Feng said with a cold smile. Anyone who dared to scheme against his brother would not get off easy, regardless of who they were.
Sure enough, it didn't take long after that Third Level Half-Emperor left before a group came rushing over. They were all young in appearance, and the one leading them looked even younger — he appeared to be no more than a teenager. But his cultivation was formidable, equal to Chu Feng's own: an Eighth Level Half-Emperor.
"That's Song Yuheng," Jiang Wushuang said, pointing at the youth at the head of the group.
"Hmph. An old man still dressing up as a teenager — disgusting," Chu Feng said with undisguised contempt. Song Yuheng was well over a hundred years old — he didn't even qualify as a junior anymore. Even if he shouldn't necessarily be a white-haired elder, he should at least look middle-aged. But here he was, disguised as a teenager, clearly through some special technique. Considering what he had done to Jiang Wushuang, Chu Feng genuinely felt sick.
"So you're Chu Feng?" Song Yuheng was scrutinizing Chu Feng as well, a trace of caution flickering in his gaze. He had never met Chu Feng before, but he had heard the stories and knew this was one of the most dangerous figures among the current generation of juniors.
"I'm your granddaddy," Chu Feng shot back without a shred of politeness. When facing a despicable schemer who had dared to target his brother, Chu Feng saw no reason to be courteous.
