Chapter 582: Descendant of a Martial Emperor?

From the very beginning, Chu Feng could sense the terrifying aura behind that giant gate. It filled him with a primal fear that kept him from approaching the chain-covered entrance, even though this Spirit World space was his own domain. He wouldn't dare.

At the time, Chu Feng had believed that as his strength grew, he would gradually be able to stand against that aura. He hoped he might one day approach the gate, even open it, and command the existence sealed behind it.

But he realized he was wrong. The stronger he became, the more clearly he perceived the overwhelming power of that being. If not for that gate, he couldn't imagine what would happen.

Especially just now, when the existence inside had tried to smash through the gate in an attempt to break the barrier, Chu Feng had felt a true sense of crisis for the first time.

The power was simply too terrifying. Although he hadn't faced it head-on, he strongly understood just how powerful the being behind the gate truly was.

Its strength was like a vast, boundless ocean.

And he himself? Nothing more than a speck of dust floating in the air.

Compared to the existence inside the gate, the gap was like that between dust and the sea. If that being broke free from the barrier's restraints, Chu Feng would certainly die.

"Just a resentful, violently tempered Spirit World Master from the Shura Spirit World, that's all. The seal on that gate was made specifically for Spirits of my Shura Spirit World, so I'm certain that's what it is," Eggie said with a sweet smile. "As for its cultivation level... I couldn't be sure before, but judging from the power it just used against the barrier, it seems considerably stronger than I expected."

"What realm exactly?" Chu Feng pressed urgently.

"If we're using the cultivation levels you have here, you could say it barely qualifies as a Martial Emperor," Eggie replied, her tone light and casual.

"A Martial Emperor?!" The two words struck Chu Feng like a thunderbolt, leaving him stunned and wide-eyed.

To think that a Martial Emperor was imprisoned within his own Spirit World space—it was almost too overwhelming to comprehend. Especially after visiting the Emperor's Tomb and witnessing the might of an Emperor's aura, the realization that such a being was sealed right inside him left him reeling.

"Don't be afraid. It's not like this guy just ended up in your Spirit World space yesterday. If it could have escaped, it would have done so long ago instead of letting you live so freely!"

"Know that its resentment runs deep. It must hate you to the core. If it ever gets out, the first thing it would do is flay your skin, drink your blood, and take your life. Hee hee!" Eggie let out an eerie laugh, clearly trying to scare him.

"I'm not afraid. I'm just shocked—shocked that a Martial Emperor is locked inside my Spirit World space," Chu Feng shook his head. But then a sudden thought struck him. "Eggie, then doesn't that mean you're also a Martial Emperor? And the one who sealed both of you in my Spirit World space... wouldn't that person also be a Martial Emperor?"

Seeing Chu Feng's dumbfounded, stammering reaction, Eggie smoothed her skirt and tidied her hair, then said with a proud grin, "To be precise, yes. If measured by your world's standards, this queen's cultivation was indeed at the Martial Emperor level. Not like that thing in there, which only barely qualifies."

"As for the one who sealed my power and locked me up here without my even noticing... I'm afraid I still can't determine its level."

"Gulp." Chu Feng swallowed hard. "My god, you... you were a Martial Emperor?" Though he'd suspected as much, hearing Eggie admit it outright still sent a jolt through him.

"Hmph! What's with that tone? Doesn't this queen look like a Martial Emperor? Let me tell you straight—I'm not just a Martial Emperor, I'm a merciless demon even in the Shura Spirit World, famous and feared. You'd best not provoke me." Pouting at his disbelief, Eggie looked visibly displeased.

"Ha ha, no, no! How could I ever doubt the queen's power?" Seeing her anger, Chu Feng quickly shook his head, denying his own words, but couldn't help laughing.

"You damn Chu Feng, just you wait. Once I recover my strength, see how I deal with you!" Eggie clenched her pearly teeth in fury, yet her breathtakingly beautiful face made even her anger look utterly adorable—or so it seemed to Chu Feng.

After making a couple more attempts to strike the giant gate, the Martial Emperor-level Spirit sealed behind it finally fell silent.

Eggie explained that the barrier might have successfully connected with the purple barrier energy, allowing the Spirit to sense a whiff of home, hence its agitation.

But Chu Feng had nothing to worry about. The barrier in this Spirit World space was incredibly powerful, far beyond what that Spirit could break. As for why someone would seal Eggie and such a terrifying Spirit here in the first place—the reason was simple.

Obviously, it was to have both Eggie and that Spirit at Chu Feng's service. It was just that his current cultivation was nowhere near strong enough to control that power.

Afterward, Chu Feng left the Spirit World space. Though his outward emotions had calmed, his heart still raced. For someone like him, if he were to guess who had sealed Eggie and such a terrifying Spirit within him, the only name that came to mind was his father.

Back when he'd confirmed that Huangfu Haoyue's cultivation was at the Martial King level, Chu Feng had thought his father must have been a great Martial King. But now, he had to shatter that assumption entirely. His father was definitely not a Martial King—he was very likely a Martial Emperor, or even stronger.

As a cultivator still striving forward in this vast world of martial arts, the mere thought that his own father was a mighty Martial Emperor made his blood boil with excitement. It was something to be proud of.

"Father, though I don't know what happened back then, I will find you. I will find the answers. As your son, I will not let you down." After declaring this with full confidence, he turned his gaze to the fierce beast lying quietly not far away—a creature whose body still surged with violent, untamed blood.

*Buzz!* With a sweep of his wide sleeve, a layer of visible purple barrier energy erupted from within Chu Feng. His fingers moved like a brush, swiftly inscribing patterns across the ground. Under his practiced hands, a majestic barrier formation began to take shape.

Chu Feng had to break the seal within that fierce beast's body as quickly as possible. It wouldn't be easy, but he had absolute confidence he could succeed in a short time.

Not for any other reason—simply because his blood was already boiling. At the thought that his father was a Martial Emperor, and that he himself was the descendant of such a powerful figure, his veins burned with fierce determination.
