"That's a death trap! Chu Feng jumped into it of his own free will — is he trying to throw his life away?"
Many people were stunned by what they had just witnessed, especially those who didn't know Chu Feng but had nonetheless wagered Immortal Martial Stones on him.
They had been hoping that Chu Feng's heaven-defying strength would let him seize first place in this Ancestral Martial Ten Stars selection, making them a fortune in the process.
Now, all those Immoral Martial Stones were nothing but a sunk cost.
As for Chu Feng, he really had no choice.
Wuma Shengjie had fallen into that certain-death passage to save him — how could Chu Feng simply stand by and do nothing?
The moment he plunged into the passage, Chu Feng quickly located Wuma Shengjie.
By now, lightning had surged into Wuma Shengjie's body and gale winds had penetrated his bones. He had sustained serious injuries.
Upon seeing this, Chu Feng didn't hesitate for a second. He stepped forward and began administering treatment.
"Chu Feng, why did you come in here?"
Seeing Chu Feng, Wuma Shengjie was filled with shock.
"Stop talking."
Chu Feng merely spoke those three words before continuing to heal Wuma Shengjie's wounds.
Though Wuma Shengjie's injuries were considerable, Chu Feng's treatment was expertly applied. Moreover, the damage was largely paralyzing in nature and not inherently lethal. After only a brief period, Wuma Shengjie's condition began to improve.
From here, Wuma Shengjie would need to slowly recuperate on his own before making a full recovery.
"Why did you follow me in here? Do you have a death wish?" Wuma Shengjie glared at Chu Feng, clearly irritated.
"Then why did you block that attack for me? Do you have a death wish?" Chu Feng shot back.
"I wasn't trying to block it for you. I just meant to push you out of the way while dodging at the same time. I underestimated how fast that thing was, so I got hit. It was an accident — I didn't deliberately save you," Wuma Shengjie said.
"Still, you saved me," Chu Feng said.
"We're friends, at least. Was I supposed to just watch you die?"
"By the way, why were you so fixated on this death trap earlier? That Huyue Tiemian crept right past you and you didn't even notice," Wuma Shengjie said.
"Fine, fine, my bad. Since we're already in here, let's figure out a way to get out," Chu Feng said.
"Looks like we have no choice but to experience this so-called certain-death passage," Wuma Shengjie said.
The reason he said this was that both he and Chu Feng could see clearly that the path they had come from was no longer behind them. In its place stood an impenetrable wall — far too solid to break through.
They had no option but to press forward.
"Come on. If fortune is on our side, no disaster can touch us. If doom is meant for us, there's no running from it." Chu Feng offered a faint smile, then launched himself forward into the unknown road ahead.
"Does this guy have no fear in him at all?" Wuma Shengjie felt a wave of helplessness wash over him.
This place had been verified — a passage where death was certain.
If anyone else had fallen in here, they would have been frightened out of their wits, perhaps even reduced to tears.
But Chu Feng showed not the slightest trace of fear. On the contrary, he was smiling — as if, for him, this was no death trap at all, but rather a thrilling adventure.
