After observing his surroundings, Chu Feng discovered that numerous locations within this world could potentially hold opportunities.
But he chose the one that would be the least likely to be noticed.
He had arrived late and lost the element of first arrival.
However, this place was hard to discover, and Chu Feng felt he stood the best chance here.
Once he locked onto his target, he set off immediately and soon arrived at the place where the opportunity lay hidden.
It was a mountain range.
Along the way, Chu Feng had encountered countless birds and beasts, as well as quite a few Fierce Beasts devoid of intelligence.
Yet that mountain range before him was completely devoid of any living creature.
In fact, at first glance, the vast, boundless mountain range stretched out in barren emptiness — not a blade of grass could be found.
But Chu Feng knew the reason for this.
Killing formations were spread throughout the mountains. Only one path was safe; a single wrong step meant certain death.
How could any living thing survive in such a place?
Therefore, Chu Feng did not dare let his guard down. He first took out the Celestial Master's Horsetail Whip and, finding that it offered no guidance, he used his Heavenly Eyes to observe carefully.
As time passed, Chu Feng reaped considerable insight.
But suddenly, his expression changed, and he whipped his head around to look behind him.
From his rear, a thick killing intent had surfaced.
"Who is it?" Chu Feng asked in a grave voice.
"Heh heh heh — your perception is remarkably sharp, to have detected me."
A sinister voice echoed out, and then a figure emerged from the distance.
It was a person whose face was concealed beneath gray robes, but from the aged hands, Chu Feng could tell it was an elder.
"Who are you?" Chu Feng asked gravely.
The figure said nothing more. Instead, with a flick of his wrist, a token appeared in his hand.
The moment Chu Feng saw that token, he didn't hesitate — he thrust his palm forward and unleashed a strike.
Powerful formation energy surged from within him, materializing into countless formation swords that hurtled straight at the gray-robed elder.
Because the token in that man's hand bore the words "Immortal Slaughter" — he was a member of Immortal Slaughter.
*Whoosh—*
But facing Chu Feng's assault, the elder merely swept his sleeve. The formation swords shattered like fragments of broken mirror, sent tumbling back through the air, utterly destroyed.
Rank Seven Half-God — that was the level of cultivation the gray-robed elder was emanating.
Moreover, after demolishing Chu Feng's attack with a wave of his sleeve, the elder's own offense did not stop. He reached out across the void, clawing toward Chu Feng.
In an instant, the void shuddered.
Though Chu Feng couldn't sense any martial force, he immediately retreated at full speed, having already detected the danger approaching.
*Boom—*
Just as expected, a massive martial force hand materialized out of thin air right where Chu Feng had been standing moments ago. The five fingers clenched tight, and the surrounding void shattered completely.
Had Chu Feng not dodged, he would have been crushed to powder by that hand.
"Dodge — can you dodge this?" The elder flipped his wrist, and a Revered Armament broadsword appeared in his grip.
He then took a step forward, broadsword in hand, and charged straight at Chu Feng.
But midway through his dash, he suddenly swung the broadsword at Chu Feng.
It looked like a close-range attack, but it was actually a long-range strike. At this distance, launching such an assault left Chu Feng virtually no room to evade.
Whether in martial cultivation realm or formation mastery, Chu Feng's peak combat power was that of a Rank Six Half-God.
Under normal circumstances, it would be impossible to dodge a Rank Seven Half-God's attack at such close range.
Yet Chu Feng merely shifted his feet, and the strike missed once again.
At the sight of this, the gray-robed elder's body went rigid — he was clearly stunned.
Though his eyes were hidden, one could sense the disbelief radiating from him.
"Chu Feng, aren't you going to run?" the Queen asked.
"He may be a Rank Seven Half-God, but his combat strength is weak."
