Although they had taken on human forms, their entire bodies were covered in blue scales, and they each possessed a pair of blood-red eyes. Whether male or female, tall or slender, every one of them stood over ten meters tall.
In their presence, Chu Feng and the others—despite being no means short—appeared positively diminutive.
"The Blood Eye Qilin Clan?"
At that moment, Long Chengyu's brow furrowed slightly, hostility surging in his eyes.
It was not just him. Every member of the Totem Dragon Clan—and even the members of the Totem Phoenix Clan—wore the same look of hostility.
"What, looking to fight?"
A cold voice rang out from among the Blood Eye Qilin Clan.
The speaker was the most heavily built and, by all accounts, the ugliest-looking male among them. Yet when he spoke, a powerful wave of oppressive pressure swept outward.
Feeling that pressure, many of the younger generation couldn't hide their shock.
This man—like Long Chengyu—actually possessed the cultivation of a Fifth Rank Half-God.
But the others could distinguish from his aura that he was clearly still a member of the younger generation as well.
For someone of the younger generation to reach the Half-God realm at all was already a mark of genius. A Third Rank Half-God made one a genius among geniuses. A Fifth Rank Half-God… there was no denying it—this man was one of the most elite talents in the entire vast Martial Cultivation World.
"The Blood Eye Qilin Clan has actually produced such a monster?"
Seeing this, the already-wary geniuses of the Totem Dragon Clan grew even more on guard. They had initially felt that with Long Chengyu present, they had nothing to fear from the other side. But if their opponents also had a Fifth Rank Half-God, then the situation was entirely different.
Just as the three sides stood with weapons drawn, on the verge of coming to blows, another male stepped forward from among the Blood Eye Qilin Clan.
Although his body was likewise covered in blue scales and his eyes were just as blood-red, compared to his clansmen, his features were considerably more pleasant to look at—at least he didn't appear nearly as menacing.
Moreover, he held a folding fan in one hand, and rather than looking awkward, the fan actually lent him a refined, scholarly air.
"Greetings, everyone. My name is Qi Weidao. Our clan has come here under orders and bears no ill will."
"I imagine you are here for the same reason, correct?"
"So there is really no need for us to fight."
The man who called himself Qi Weidao spoke with a mild smile, and as he did, he opened his other palm.
Because their hands were so large, when clenched they resembled a fist. Only when he spread his fingers open did the others see that he, too, held a command token. It was identical to the ones Chu Feng and the rest had been given.
"Whose orders are you following?" Feng Jiuyue asked.
"The same as yours—why bother asking a redundant question?" Qi Weidao replied with a faint laugh.
"Weidao, why waste your breath on them? Just ignore the lot of them."
The Fifth Rank Half-God of the Blood Eye Qilin Clan finished speaking and led his group onward toward the great gate. But after only a few steps, he suddenly halted, as though he had slammed into something.
"What the—?"
He immediately threw a fist forward. A tremendous boom rang out as his fist struck what appeared to be empty air, yet it felt as though he had punched straight into a wall.
"A barrier again?"
The Fifth Rank Half-God of the Blood Eye Qilin Clan demanded in frustration.
After observing for a moment, Qi Weidao said to him, "It seems the time for it to open hasn't arrived yet."
Chu Feng took a look of his own. Indeed, the gate had not yet reached its opening time.
"What's going on? The Totem Phoenix Clan showing up is one thing, but wasn't the Blood Eye Qilin Clan wiped out ages ago? How are they here again? And how does their younger generation have so many powerful fighters?"
"Isn't the real issue that they also have command tokens? Are we really going to be going alongside the Blood Eye Qilin Clan today?"
At that moment, compared to the great gate itself, the members of the Totem Dragon Clan were far more concerned about the Blood Eye Qilin Clan. Every one of them had made their disgust and opposition abundantly clear.
Chu Feng turned to Long Chengyu and asked, "What's the story behind this Blood Eye Qilin Clan?"
And after Long Chengyu explained, Chu Feng finally understood why everyone was so hostile toward the Blood Eye Qilin Clan.
