When the Totem Dragon Clan's Clan Master returned to the warship, Chu Feng had already made his way back as well. He was recounting his experience of venturing into the Primordial Star Sea alone to Long Chengyu and Long Muxi.
So the Clan Master did not reveal himself directly. Instead, he concealed his aura and quietly listened to Chu Feng's account.
Chu Feng only spoke of having reached the end of the path. He did not mention his suspicion that something might have once existed in the space near the stone stele — only that it was no longer there.
After all, that was merely Chu Feng's own conjecture.
And everyone found it puzzling — why would such a safe route exist within the Primordial Star Sea, only for its endpoint to hold absolutely nothing?
After much deliberation, they all figured that perhaps something was hidden there, something that even Chu Feng had been unable to uncover.
Though the trip had turned up nothing, Chu Feng continued to keep his gaze on the Primordial Star Sea.
He still felt that the Primordial Star Sea was shrouded in mystery. Even now, as a half-god realm expert, the Primordial Star Sea still gave him the impression of the Martial Path itself — boundless and unfathomable.
Chu Feng still wished to glean something from it.
"Hm?" Suddenly, the look in Chu Feng's eyes shifted.
Moments later, the crowd below erupted into commotion.
Everyone had noticed the change in the Primordial Star Sea.
Red mist was rising from within the Star Sea — not from just one stretch of water, but from the entirety of the Primordial Star Sea, red mist surged upward.
"What is that?"
Not just the bystanders, but even the Totem Dragon Clan's Clan Master was deeply captivated by the red mist.
The mist grew thicker and thicker, until it had blanketed the entire surface of the sea.
Even the night sky was tinted a blood-red hue.
The Primordial Star Sea, which had been breathtakingly beautiful moments ago, now looked eerie and terrifying at a single glance.
But that was not all. The red mist seemed to possess a will of its own. It began converging, intertwaving and spiraling upward like a whirlwind.
"Pull the warship back."
The Totem Dragon Clan's Clan Master, who had been concealed only moments ago, suddenly revealed himself and landed atop the warship. With a single command, the massive vessel began retreating.
"Father, what is that red stuff?"
Long Chengyu asked nervously. The fact that his father had ordered a retreat meant he likely knew something.
"I'm not certain what it is, but according to historical records, no such phenomenon has ever appeared in the Primordial Star Sea throughout all these years. Better to exercise caution," the Clan Master said.
"Young friend Chu Feng, have you observed anything?" The Clan Master then turned to Chu Feng.
Given the magnitude of the disturbance, nearly everyone had rushed out. The esteemed Clan Master of the Totem Dragon Clan asking a junior for his opinion — under normal circumstances, it would have been inconceivable.
But the one being asked was Chu Feng. People found it both peculiar and perfectly natural at the same time. Their feelings were rather conflicted.
After all, Chu Feng was, in truth, quite extraordinary.
"It seems to be the power of a barrier, and yet not quite the power of a barrier. It's condensing. Once it finishes condensing, we'll have our answer," Chu Feng said.
"Mm." The Clan Master nodded. What Chu Feng had observed aligned with his own assessment.
Whoosh—
Suddenly, a fierce gust of wind swept out from within the Primordial Star Sea.
The instant it appeared, the Clan Master immediately positioned himself in front of everyone.
He had sensed a dangerous aura.
Fortunately, the gust of wind surged out from the Primordial Star Sea but ultimately stayed within its bounds, never crossing beyond the sea's perimeter.
And it vanished shortly after.
"Father, it felt like some kind of power just manifested — was it hidden within that gust of wind?"
Long Chengyu had felt the change as well. It was that wind, but he was uncertain, so he looked to his father.
"Yes. It was that wind — a very powerful force. But it only appeared for a single instant," the Clan Master said.
