"When did you notice me?" The woman looked at Chu Feng, her eyes filled with disbelief.
"To be honest, I noticed you the moment you arrived," Chu Feng said.
He wasn't lying. Chu Feng had arrived at this ancient city first, but he quickly sensed that someone else had also come to this place — and he couldn't determine that person's strength.
As a precaution, while secretly conversing with Egg Egg, Chu Feng had deliberately spoken his words aloud.
In truth, he had been intentionally letting an outsider overhear.
On the surface, he appeared to be setting up a formation to seize an opportunity, but in reality, he had laid down a grand formation that would give him control over the situation — one that worked entirely in his favor.
This grand formation was both offensive and defensive in nature. Offensively, it could suppress the woman as it was doing now, and could even annihilate her.
Defensively, it could not only serve as a shield, but could also teleport Chu Feng to a distant location at random.
Chu Feng had prepared two contingencies. If he couldn't defeat his opponent, he would use this formation to escape.
The woman observed the grand formation for a moment, then looked back at Chu Feng. She knew he wasn't bluffing.
Because of that, she also knew she had been thoroughly defeated today.
"Who exactly are you?" the woman asked.
Chu Feng didn't answer. Instead, he looked at the sword in the woman's hand and suddenly smiled: "That's a fine sword you have."
With that, Chu Feng reached out and grabbed, and a wave of suction enveloped the long sword in the woman's hand.
But quickly, surprise flickered through his eyes. He discovered, with astonishment, that he was unable to wrest the sword from the woman's grasp.
It felt as though there was a layer of barrier — a barrier whose sole purpose was to prevent any greater force from snatching it away from her.
"Interesting." This was the first time Chu Feng had encountered an artifact like this. But the more elusive it was, the more he wanted it.
He began channeling the power of his formation, forcibly trying to wrench the long sword from the woman's hand. But even so, he still couldn't take it.
"It's useless. That sword is not something you can wield."
The woman spoke up, her confidence absolute.
Even though she was suppressed, she had complete confidence that the sword would not be taken by Chu Feng.
But soon, her expression changed. A trace of panic crept onto her previously confident face.
She discovered, with shock, that the long sword in her hand was trembling faintly — and the trembling wasn't caused by Chu Feng's suction force.
It was more as if the sword was wavering.
It was the sword itself that was wavering.
Why would it waver?
Because of Chu Feng, of course.
"Chu Feng, I'll remember you."
The woman looked at Chu Feng, and then her entire body was enveloped by the power of a red barrier. In the next instant, she vanished without a trace.
Teleportation power!!!
Chu Feng couldn't determine whether it was a teleportation formation the woman had set up in advance, or some sort of protective formation on her person.
Either way, that teleportation power was formidable!!!
Even with the considerable might of his grand formation, the woman had still managed to escape successfully.
"That sword on the woman's hand is quite special."
"But she doesn't seem to be from the Seven Realms Holy Institution," the Queen said.
"I got the same impression — she's not from the Seven Realms Holy Institution. But that sword truly is powerful."
"It seems the vast cultivation world truly hides dragons and crouching tigers. Not every powerful Spirit World Master comes from the Seven Realms Holy Institution."
"But regardless of where she's from, that sword is just too incredible."
"Just now, she merged with that sword, and her barrier combat power received a full enhancement. Her fighting became effortless."
"She didn't need to set up any formations at all — the most basic attacks could unleash tremendous power."
"If that sword were in my hands, perhaps my barrier combat power could reach an entirely new level."
As Chu Feng said this, he was practically drooling, making no attempt to hide his longing and desire for that sword.
"It's just a shame that she actually got away," the Queen said with regret.
"Maybe there'll be another chance someday," Chu Feng said.
"Then do you think she'll come back?"
