"My Queen is certainly not stupid. Actually, there was an element of gambling in it too — I just got lucky and guessed right," Chu Feng said with a cheeky grin, his survival instincts on full display.
"So you weren't really trying to save him — you were more interested in taking a gamble on this opportunity?" Her Majesty asked.
"Yes. I felt that saving this man was itself a test." As Chu Feng spoke, his gaze remained fixed on the young man.
The young man had been in terrible condition before — practically a living corpse. At least in Chu Feng's eyes, he had seemed nearly impossible to heal.
But now, wrapped within that red aura, the young man's condition was visibly improving at a rapid pace.
The red aura not only possessed the power to destroy heaven and earth, but also contained an inconceivable healing force.
Both its destructive power and its healing force were far beyond anything Chu Feng could currently hope to touch.
"Just who is the master of this place?"
Chu Feng had encountered no shortage of powerful figures — many of whom he considered to be existences standing at the very peak.
Yet the master of this place gave Chu Feng the impression of being even stronger than anyone he had ever met before.
Though she had yet to reveal herself, her overwhelming power had already been imprinted upon Chu Feng's soul.
A place guarded by such a tremendously powerful existence was certain to hold extraordinary opportunities.
"Could it be that the Black-Furred Ghost came here for the same reason?"
Chu Feng had previously suspected that the Black-Furred Ghost might be the master of this place, but now he could almost certainly conclude that the owner of the red aura was the true master.
If that was the case, the Black-Furred Ghost was very likely just another intruder, much like Chu Feng himself.
Soon, the red aura dissipated. Though the young man was still somewhat weak, his life was no longer in danger.
"Brother, thank you." The moment the young man recovered, he walked up to Chu Feng and bowed.
"I appreciate the change in your attitude, but I have to be honest — I didn't save you. It was the power of this place that saved you," Chu Feng said with a grin.
Hearing this, the young man also broke into a wide grin.
"First of all, there was nothing wrong with my attitude. Not knowing who I am is entirely your fault — after all, I'm very famous."
"But I was merely pointing that out. I never tried to bully you — at most, I was a little arrogant in my manner."
"It may have rubbed you the wrong way, but from my perspective, I was already being quite friendly."
"So please don't take it to heart, brother."
"Also, while the power that saved me didn't come from you, I now understand that it was your choice that gave me the chance to be saved."
"In fact, it wasn't just me — the person I wanted to save has also been rescued and is waiting for me outside right now."
"So I owe you two debts of gratitude," the young man said.
Hearing this, Chu Feng roughly understood — during the healing process, the young man must have also received some information.
"Then may I ask who you are, and what brought you to this place?" Chu Feng asked.
"Ah..." The young man sighed. "Actually, now I'd rather you didn't know who I am. It's far too embarrassing. If I could, I'd really hope you'd never find out."
"As for why I came here — I was looking for someone. But I'd rather not say too much about her, as it might seem offensive. Please don't take offense, brother," the young man said.
"No worries." Chu Feng smiled faintly in understanding.
"Brother, why don't you tell me — what brought you here?" the young man asked.
Chu Feng didn't hide anything and gave him a general account of what had happened.
"A curse?"
"Then it seems your purpose in coming here is entirely different from mine."
"But I'd advise you, brother — if you can, you should leave this place. It's far from ordinary," the young man said.
"I haven't accomplished my goal yet. I can't leave," Chu Feng said.
"In that case, I can only wish you luck, brother." At this point, the young man seemed to remember something and asked:
"I just entered a space and encountered a mass of red aura so enormous it surpassed entire star domains. Its owner called herself an Emperor."
"I couldn't withstand the Emperor's Might she spoke of and nearly died."
"Seeing you standing here safe and sound, brother — what kind of trial did you go through?"
As he finished speaking, the young man's gaze locked tightly onto Chu Feng.
"If I told you it was the same as yours, would you think I was bragging?" Chu Feng asked.
"Ha ha ha..." The young man burst into hearty laughter. "Seems I was blind to judge you by your cover."
Clearly, he believed Chu Feng and realized that Chu Feng was no ordinary person.
"Brother, my Universe Bag has been sealed, so I can't repay your kindness today. But if we ever meet again, I will certainly return this debt."
"Farewell." With that, the young man bowed to Chu Feng, then turned and stepped through the barrier gate leading out.
"That guy's not exactly playing fair — he knew perfectly well you were the one who saved him, and not only did he leave without giving you any reward..."
