"What are you doing?"
The young lady Liwu suddenly let out an angry shout at Chu Feng.
It turned out that Chu Feng had noticed something was wrong, and regardless of whether Liwu was willing or not, he grabbed her wrist and began inspecting her condition.
But Liwu's struggles quickly began to subside.
Because after inspecting her, Chu Feng set up a formation. As the formation's power continuously surged into Liwu's body, not only did the emerging black hair begin to recede, but the pain on her face gradually lessened as well.
Afterward, Chu Feng set up another formation and refined a medicinal pill on the spot: "Miss Liwu, take this. It will help with your condition."
"Thank you." Facing the pill Chu Feng offered, Liwu not only accepted it, but took it immediately.
The reason for such a dramatic change was that Chu Feng had indeed just helped alleviate her condition, so she knew that Chu Feng wouldn't harm her — he was genuinely trying to help.
And after taking Chu Feng's pill, Liwu's condition improved once more.
"Brother Chu Feng, how is it? Can Miss Liwu's illness be cured?"
Seeing Liwu's condition improve under Chu Feng's treatment, Bai Yunqing saw a glimmer of hope.
"Don't worry. There will be a way," Chu Feng said. Then he looked at Liwu and asked: "Miss Liwu, where did you contract this illness?"
Chu Feng knew full well that this was no illness at all — it was a curse.
And it was very likely connected to the Black-Haired Ghost.
The Black-Haired Ghost was an ancient existence — originally a woman sealed within a crystal coffin.
Twenty thousand years ago, she was discovered by the Tantai Heavenly Clan within ancient ruins. Due to the clan members' greed for the treasures inside the coffin, they inadvertently awakened her.
The woman within the coffin transformed into the Black-Haired Ghost and placed a curse upon the Tantai Heavenly Clan. From that point on, clan members began disappearing one after another.
However, the curse did not last long. The Black-Haired Ghost and the curse vanished together, and the Tantai Heavenly Clan returned to normal.
But later, after Baili Luo arrived at the Tantai Heavenly Clan, she sensed the presence of the Black-Haired Ghost and inadvertently awakened it once more.
This awakening deepened the Black-Haired Ghost's resentment. She slaughtered the Tantai Heavenly Clan and attempted to seize Baili Luo's body. Though she ultimately spared Baili Luo, she left a curse upon her.
That curse was incredibly persistent. Chu Feng had even gone out of his way to learn curse-breaking arts in order to free her from it, but he had been powerless to do so.
And now, Liwu's condition was almost identical to when Baili Luo's curse had resurfaced.
So Chu Feng believed that Liwu had very likely encountered the Black-Haired Ghost.
"It was in the Black Withered Forest," Liwu said.
"The Black Withered Forest? What place is that?" Chu Feng asked.
"It's deep within this jungle. Because the trees there are all black and entirely withered, I call it the Black Withered Forest."
"The energy of heaven and earth there becomes particularly dense on certain days, so I go there to cultivate," Liwu explained.
"Miss Liwu, did you see anything unusual there?" Chu Feng asked.
"No." Liwu shook her head, but quickly added: "However, that day, the energy of heaven and earth suddenly became abnormally dense. At the same time, I felt wave after wave of cold. That cold disrupted my mind and made it impossible for me to cultivate normally, so I left."
"After I came back, I was like this."
"If I had to point to the source, I believe it was that day," Liwu said.
"Miss Liwu, could you tell me the exact location of that Black Withered Forest?" Chu Feng asked.
"I advise you not to go. I went back later, but every time I go there, my body feels terribly uncomfortable."
"I can feel that this is no illness — it's a curse," Liwu said.
"It really is a curse?" At this, Bai Yunqing's expression changed as well.
Clearly, he too had long sensed that Liwu's condition was no simple illness, but more like a curse.
"It is indeed a curse. To be honest, I once had a friend who suffered the same curse," Chu Feng said.
"The same curse?" When these words left Chu Feng's lips, not only did Bai Yunqing look at Chu Feng with astonishment, but even Liwu turned her gaze toward him.
Clearly, they both wanted to extract more clues and information from Chu Feng.
And Chu Feng did not hide anything. He told Bai Yunqing and Liwu everything about the Black-Haired Ghost.
"So, Brother Chu Feng, you're saying that the terrifying Black-Haired Ghost left your Ancestral Martial Star Field and happened to arrive in this jungle?"
"And that right now, she may very well be inside that black withered forest?" Bai Yunqing asked.
"That's a possibility, but I can't say for certain. After all, who can speak clearly on matters of the ancient era?"
"The Black-Haired Ghost only commands curse arts. Perhaps in ancient times, there were others who wielded the same curse techniques," Chu Feng said.
"That may be true, but the answer most likely lies within that Black Withered Forest. Brother Chu Feng, please look after Miss Liwu for me. I'll go check it out," Bai Yunqing said.
"Nn—"
But just at that moment, a look of pain returned to Liwu's face.
The curse had struck again.
Upon seeing this, Chu Feng hurriedly began treating Liwu once more.
Though he quickly suppressed the curse's outbreak again, Liwu's body had grown even weaker.
And Chu Feng sensed that Liwu's curse was far more severe than Baili Luo's — it could erupt again at any time.
So Chu Feng set up formations and refined multiple pills that could suppress the curse, then handed them all to Bai Yunqing.
