Even outsiders thought this way, and so did the Realm Ship — and so, embellishing the details as it went, it recounted the matter in full.
But every word it spoke was meant to smear Chu Feng's name.
After hearing the whole story, Lady Nianqing's brows furrowed as well.
She only knew that Chu Feng was her grandson — she had no idea what kind of person he truly was.
Yet even so, upon learning that her grandson had been wronged, the fury within her nearly spiraled out of control.
Because she felt that they owed Chu Feng far too much. Even if he were a man of wretched character, the responsibility would still fall on her, and she would naturally have to protect him.
And so, the chill that permeated this realm grew even more bone-piercing.
Sensing that frigid cold, everyone was too terrified to speak, fearing that the slightest misstep would drag them into the fallout.
"Shenger."
But two people were exceptions — Ling Mo'er and Ling Sheng'er. The two of them seemed to be in the middle of a dispute, with Ling Mo'er pulling at Ling Sheng'er.
"Let go of me! I have to say it!"
Ling Sheng'er suddenly shouted, violently shaking Ling Mo'er off before running up to Lady Nianqing.
"Lady Nianqing, he is lying!" Ling Sheng'er declared.
"Ling Sheng'er, how dare you be so insolent — even before Lady Nianqing, you would dare behave so recklessly?"
At the sight of this, Lady Shuangyu's gaze turned cold. She naturally knew what Ling Sheng'er intended to say, and so she released her oppressive aura, attempting to restrain Ling Sheng'er and prevent her from speaking out of turn.
But before her pressure could so much as approach Ling Sheng'er, it was blasted apart — and Lady Shuangyu herself was sent tumbling to the ground.
A far more powerful force had struck her away.
After landing, Lady Shuangyu looked at Lady Nianqing with a face full of disbelief. She knew full well that the one who had blasted her away was Lady Nianqing herself.
But she could not understand — Lady Nianqing had never treated her this way before. Why was it different today?
Yet despite the grievance written all over her face, Lady Nianqing's expression remained ice-cold.
"Is this your domain to command, or mine?" Lady Nianqing's frigid gaze fixed on Lady Shuangyu.
"My lady, of course it is yours."
Lady Shuangyu did not dare offer a single word of rebuttal. She had even been fully prepared to fabricate claims that Ling Sheng'er had been conspiring with Chu Feng, yet now she could not manage a single utterance — not because she did not want to, but because she simply did not dare.
She had already sensed that Lady Nianqing had truly angered, and that fury was beginning to burn toward her.
Though she did not understand why things had turned out this way, she no longer dared to make the slightest provocation.
"Ling Sheng'er, what did you just say? You said the Realm Ship was lying?"
Lady Nianqing's face was still cold as stone, and that aura about her left everyone deeply unsettled. After all, everyone knew just how much Lady Nianqing doted on the Realm Ship.
Faced with such a Lady Nianqing, Ling Sheng'er was afraid too.
Because she did not understand why Lady Nianqing was so furious — she assumed it was her own words that had provoked her.
But after weighing her options, she still decided to speak.
"That's right, Lady Nianqing. Chu Feng and Bai Yunqing never committed any evil deeds whatsoever. It was the Realm Ship who colluded with Lady Shuangyu to frame Chu Feng and Bai Yunqing."
Ling Sheng'er had gone all in. Though she knew Lady Nianqing deeply favored the Realm Ship, though she knew Lady Nianqing might shield her own, though she knew speaking out could earn her punishment —
She simply could not stand by and watch Chu Feng suffer such a grievous injustice.
And so, even knowing the risks, she laid bare the entire truth in one breath.
Upon learning the truth, Lady Nianqing's expression turned utterly dark, and the chill that pervaded this realm was no longer merely bone-piercing — the very earth began to rumble.
It was her killing intent, released for all to feel, and it filled everyone with dread and terror.
This level of fury was something none of them had ever sensed from Lady Nianqing before.
Seeing this, Ling Mo'er was so anxious that tears streamed from her eyes. The outcome she had feared most had come to pass — she had known Lady Nianqing would be partial and would not believe her sister, which was precisely why she had tried to stop Ling Sheng'er earlier.
As for Ling Sheng'er, she too felt she had failed, and so she closed her eyes, prepared to await her judgment.
At the sight of this, a smug smile spread across the Realm Ship's face, and its gaze toward Ling Sheng'er carried all the arrogance of a victor.
Just then, a figure descended from above — it was the elder responsible for guarding the cultivation tower.
"Lady Nianqing, I can bear witness. Ling Sheng'er has not lied. Please reconsider."
He too had sensed that Lady Nianqing might be about to punish Ling Sheng'er, and not wanting Lady Nianqing to make a grave mistake, he chose to speak the truth.
But the moment these words left his lips, the Realm Ship spoke up.
"You... you've conspired with Chu Feng as well?"
