Chapter 5290: So Zuwu Never Faded

January 17, 2020 · 4 min read · 804 words

"So, young friend Chu Feng does have someone protecting him after all."

"This old man was too slow on the uptake." Mo Yuhan's grandfather said.

However, upon hearing this, the Daoist priest's brow furrowed slightly, a cold glint flickering through his eyes. "Oh? It seems you once probed whether my disciple had someone guarding him?"

Mo Yuhan's grandfather did not answer, but the unease on his face only deepened.

The Daoist priest suddenly burst into laughter.

"Hahaha…"

"So that's why you dared scheme against my disciple without the slightest restraint — turns out you had done your homework."

Boom—

But in the next instant, Mo Yuhan's grandfather made his move.

A towering torrent of qi erupted from his palm, and the overwhelming power annihilated everything in its path, plunging the surroundings into total darkness. Even space itself was temporarily burned away and erased.

When the colossal surge of qi finally dissipated…

The pocket world had been split clean in two.

Everything on Mo Yuhan's grandfather's side still existed, but the opposite half had been reduced to nothingness. Even the distant horizon was riddled with countless fractures. This spatial realm, conjured by a supreme treasure, had been virtually indestructible — yet now it was on the verge of collapse.

How powerful was that single strike?

That one blow alone was enough to completely obliterate an entire lower realm, leaving not a single blade of grass behind!!!

From the moment the Daoist priest had revealed his identity, Mo Yuhan's grandfather had realized there would be no peaceful resolution today. With the opponent's strength unfathomable, he could only go all in.

This had been a surprise attack, executed using a supreme treasure.

And so Mo Yuhan's grandfather now collapsed to the ground with a thud, gasping for breath in great heaving gulps, as though even the slightest movement was beyond him.

This was the price he had paid for that strike.

But looking at the devastation before him — everything obliterated — and sensing that the Daoist priest's aura had completely vanished from the world, his face broke into wild elation.

"Heh heh…"

"Silently infiltrating my world, and I thought you were something extraordinary. Turns out you were nothing but a paper tiger, pathetic."

"Though he should have had quite a few treasures on him, or else he wouldn't have been able to keep me trapped here. What a shame — that strike of mine sent him straight to oblivion, scattered to ash. Otherwise I could have reaped an additional harvest."

At this thought, Mo Yuhan's grandfather shook his head, lamenting that he had not obtained the Daoist priest's treasures.

"Oh my, such confidence?"

But suddenly, a voice rang out, and a figure materialized from the void — none other than the Daoist priest himself.

The old Daoist was still as disheveled as ever, yet otherwise completely unscathed, looking no different from before.

"Y—You!!!" The moment he saw the Daoist priest appear, the expression on Mo Yuhan's grandfather's face was that of a man who had just lost his mother.

"Any other tricks up your sleeve? Go ahead and use them." The Daoist priest said.

Tricks? That last strike had been the strongest thing he had.

Mo Yuhan's grandfather could no longer speak.

He did not know whether the Daoist priest had dodged his blow or tanked it head-on, but regardless…

He had realized that this man's power was simply beyond his ability to contend with.

At this thought, he summoned every last ounce of strength and launched himself skyward, desperate to flee.

But the moment he rose, a tremendous force crashed down from above, slamming him back to the ground.

Boom—

Dust erupted everywhere as a massive crater formed in the earth. Mo Yuhan's grandfather lay crushed at the very bottom.

"I told you to use your full power, not to run."

"Running takes all the fun out of it." The Daoist priest floated over, gazing down at Mo Yuhan's grandfather with a cheerful smile.

Mo Yuhan's grandfather forced himself upright and turned his head, but there was no anger on his face — only desperate pleading. "My lord, I was the one behind everything. It has nothing to do with my son or my granddaughter."

So it was. Knowing he could not escape today, his only remaining concern was to keep his son and daughter from being dragged into his downfall.

"Oh?" The Daoist priest gave a faint smile, then flicked his wrist. A door appeared in the spatial realm — the very same door plastered with talismans.

The door that had existed on the outside was now within this space.

"Space Reversal?"

Mo Yuhan's grandfather's eyes went wide with shock. He had already known he was no match for his opponent, but he had never imagined the gap in strength to be this vast.
