"Dragon Daoist?!"
The name sent a massive commotion rippling through the crowd as everyone took a fresh look at the blue-robed old man standing atop the dragon's head.
Even the Ji and Liu clansmen furrowed their brows, their eyes sharpening with interest.
The name "Dragon Daoist" was simply too legendary. His reputation didn't just echo across the Nine Provinces Continent — it had spread to several neighboring continents as well.
Anyone of even modest standing knew that the Dragon Daoist was a legend of the Nine Provinces Continent, the number one figure a thousand years ago, a powerhouse who had come just a single step away from reaching the Martial Lord Realm.
"You claim to be the Dragon Daoist?" The Ji clan ancestor furrowed his brow deeply, scrutinizing the Dragon Daoist with an extremely grave gaze.
"That's right. This old man is none other than the Dragon Daoist." The Dragon Daoist smiled faintly, his expression barely shifting — calm as a gentle breeze, composed and at ease.
"What a joke. The Dragon Daoist is a figure from a thousand years ago. Your cultivation may be similar to his, but don't you dare use his name to scare us. If you really were the Dragon Daoist, wouldn't that mean you've lived for a thousand years?" The Liu clan ancestor spoke with undisguised disbelief, convinced that the Dragon Daoist was simply full of hot air.
"Ha ha. The Green Dragon under my feet — the very one that made me famous — is right here, and yet you still don't believe I'm the Dragon Daoist?"
"Very well, very well. Believe me or don't — either way, you're all dead men walking." Without warning, the Dragon Daoist flicked the horsetail whisk in his hand. The surrounding space rippled and warped, then a massive surge of Heavenly Force erupted outward, carrying a rolling divine might as it crashed down upon the Ji and Liu clan ancestors.
"What power!!"
In that instant, both ancestors could feel the sheer intensity of the Dragon Daoist's strike. Not daring to show the slightest negligence, they both channeled the Heavenly Force within their bodies and launched a fierce counterattack.
"Ji Clan Heaven-Turning Palm!!!"
"Liu Clan Tyrant Heaven Fist!!!"
A fist and a palm struck out simultaneously, sending heaven and earth trembling and the wind and clouds scattering. The resulting aura was staggering, because both martial arts were Seventh-rank Martial Arts.
Seventh-rank Martial Arts were already exceptionally powerful techniques, and when wielded by two Heaven Martial Ninth Level powerhouses, the resulting force was simply unstoppable.
"Boom!" At last, the two Seventh-rank Martial Arts collided with the Heavenly Force unleashed by the Dragon Daoist. But after a single thunderous impact, the attacks from the Ji and Liu clan ancestors were blasted to smithereens, while the Dragon Daoist's offensive continued forward without losing an ounce of momentum, bearing down on the two ancestors.
"This!!!" Seeing this, both ancestors' expressions changed dramatically. They hastily flickered their palms with light and summoned their respective bound weapons, then fused with their blades and roared, unleashing terrifying slashes of light.
"Whirr!"
Two beams of light sliced through the air, producing ear-splitting shrieks. Even the air itself sparked from the friction, and heaven and earth could not withstand such vast divine might.
"Boom!" Another deafening boom shook the world, and this time the two light slashes finally managed to neutralize the Dragon Daoist's Heavenly Force.
But comparing the Dragon Daoist's expression to that of the two ancestors at this moment, the contrast was stark.
The smile still hung on the Dragon Daoist's face — calm and unruffled as ever. The two ancestors, however, had gone deathly pale, drenched in cold sweat, their aged eyes flickering with terror and unease.
Even the onlookers were so stunned their jaws had dropped, because the Dragon Daoist's previous attack had been nothing more than an utterly casual strike.
Yet it had taken both ancestors each firing off a Seventh-rank Martial Art and following up with their strongest bound-weapon slashes just to counter it.
