"My Master?"
Chu Feng was somewhat surprised — hadn't his master been captured by Sima Xiangtu?
But he still took the letter from Xian Miaomiao's hands.
After opening the letter, he found it was empty. Yet the instant the letter was opened, a surge of power flowed from it straight into Chu Feng's mind.
That... was the letter's true content.
"Chu Feng, by the time you receive this letter, your master should no longer be in the Eastern Domain."
"There are some things your master has deliberated over for a long time, and I have decided to tell you the truth."
"Your master was not kidnapped by that Sima Xiangtu. I went after him of my own accord. Sima Xiangtu has now been slain by my hand. You need not worry about him making a comeback, nor need you worry about your master's safety."
"By now, you should have realized — your master is not as weak as I appear on the surface. Of course, if I were truly that weak, I wouldn't be worthy of being your master."
"Don't blame your master for deceiving you before, or for not cutting away the thorns on your path directly. I deliberately held back simply to spur you on and help you grow faster."
"And the result now fills me with gratification. You truly haven't disappointed me — worthy of being the disciple I chose."
"Though Sima Xiangtu has been eliminated, his disciple remains at large. That disciple is the Ming Ri Prince among the Asura Spirit Army."
"This boy's bloodline is extraordinarily powerful — so much so that even his father doesn't fully understand it. His hatred for you runs deep, and he will certainly seek revenge. Be on your guard."
"Though you're a clever boy, you're far too sentimental. That is your weakness. Alas, your master knows I can't talk you out of it, so just continue being yourself."
"Though it's your weakness, it's also what makes you who you are."
"But remember one thing — no matter what, make sure you survive. As long as you continue to grow, the day will come when master and disciple meet again."
"So Chu Feng, you must live well. And don't forget — your Ancient Universe Map is still being kept safe with your master."
The old bull-nosed Daoist hadn't left much for Chu Feng, but it filled him with joy.
He could confirm that this letter was indeed left by his master, the old bull-nosed Daoist. What surprised him was that his master had actually been hiding his true strength.
No wonder the old bull-nosed Daoist had always given Chu Feng an unfathomable feeling.
But what delighted Chu Feng most wasn't that his master had been hiding his strength — giving him a sense of confidence — it was that his master hadn't been kidnapped by Sima Xiangtu at all. Instead, he had gone after Sima Xiangtu of his own volition and had already slain him.
Chu Feng had naturally been worried about Sima Xiangtu making a comeback, but he'd actually been more worried about the old Daoist's safety. Now both concerns could be put to rest.
What Chu Feng hadn't expected was that the Ming Ri Prince was actually Sima Xiangtu's disciple, and that he now harbored a deep grudge against him.
Of course, this was a minor matter. After all, the Asura army was in Chu Feng's hands — the Ming Ri Prince was nothing to fear.
"Chu Feng, what did your master tell you? Why are you suddenly so happy?"
Xian Miaomiao stared at Chu Feng with curiosity. She had noticed that the moment he took the letter, his expression had changed — first surprise, then an involuntary smile.
And Xian Miaomiao knew this must have something to do with what Chu Feng's master had left behind.
"I'm not telling you. It's a good thing, that's all."
Chu Feng deliberately kept him in suspense. As he spoke, he tucked the letter into his robes. Though he already knew its contents and the letter was nothing but an empty shell — a mere prop — it was still something his master had left for him, so Chu Feng carefully put it away.
"So stingy." Xian Miaomiao pouted.
"I'll tell you if you want, but first — why was my master's letter in your master's possession? Do they know each other?" Chu Feng asked.
"They do know each other, and have for many years. But beyond that, I don't know anything, so stop asking me about the relationship between your master and mine."
Xian Miaomiao said.
"Then what else did your master tell you?"
Chu Feng continued to ask.
"My master said that if you truly want to know who he is, you can go ask the patriarch of the Nine Soul Holy Clan. But don't broadcast anything about my master — just keep it to yourself."
Xian Miaomiao said.
"Understood."
As Chu Feng spoke, he looked at Xian Miaomiao and suddenly noticed something.
"Miaomiao, you're not about to leave right now, are you?"
Chu Feng asked.
"Mm. In a little while, I'll be leaving with my master."
Xian Miaomiao said.
"Then... you're not going to say goodbye to your mother? She's been very worried about you." Chu Feng said.
"My master only told me to say goodbye to you. You can pass a message to my mother — I'm fine now, and you can tell her I've taken someone as my master. But don't say anything else. My master won't allow it."
Xian Miaomiao said.
"Alright, then thank your master for me."
Chu Feng said.
"Chu Feng."
Suddenly, Xian Miaomiao's tone became serious.
