Chapter 5008: Dragon Breath Spring Hall

January 17, 2020 · 4 min read · 722 words

Chu Feng had no choice in the matter. On the surface, it appeared he was traveling alongside the Prison Sect Hell Envoy, but in reality, he was nothing more than a captive.

The mountain range was incredibly vast — so vast it defied imagination. It was probably larger than an entire small Mortal World.

The people they encountered occasionally were searching aimlessly through the terrain.

Yet the Prison Sect Hell Envoy moved with purpose, as if he knew exactly where to go, navigating the path with practiced ease.

Finally, he stopped at a cliff's edge.

Atop that cliff sat a wooden cabin.

The cabin was primitive in appearance, and at first glance it seemed to simply be built along the cliffside.

But Chu Feng noticed at once that this was no ordinary structure — the cabin was gripping the cliff face.

It was as if it were alive, clinging to the cliff with part of its own body.

Above the cabin's entrance hung a plaque.

Four characters were inscribed upon it: Dragon Breath Spring Hall.

"I actually found it. Chu Feng, your luck is quite good — you know, not everyone is so fortunate."

The Prison Sect Hell Envoy was visibly delighted.

But as he spoke, a wave of barrier power surged from within his body, enveloping him entirely.

Under the barrier's influence, his attire shifted as well. Though he still wore a wide-brimmed hat and a long robe, both had turned a teal color. The three characters for "Hell Envoy" that had been inscribed on his robe were now gone.

"What kind of place is this, that you need to disguise your appearance? Could it be that they don't welcome people from the Prison Sect here?"

Chu Feng asked.

"The Prison Sect draws too much attention. This is better. If you're smart, you won't reveal my identity once we're inside."

Though the Prison Sect Hell Envoy's words sounded like a reminder on the surface, they carried far more the weight of a threat.

With that, he led Chu Feng into the so-called Dragon Breath Spring Hall.

From the outside, the Spring Hall appeared small, but once inside, it was not much larger.

The interior décor matched the exterior style — primitive, even somewhat sparse.

But the people inside all seemed to be anything but ordinary.

Everyone in the Spring Hall was in high spirits. It seemed that simply being allowed to enter the Dragon Breath Spring Hall was, in itself, something worth celebrating.

"Good sir, do you have any Dragon Spring Coins? I am willing to exchange this ancestral noble weapon for them."

The moment they stepped inside, an elderly man with silver-streaked hair approached, gripping a silver long saber.

It was a noble weapon, and its quality was quite impressive.

"I do, but I'm not trading."

The Prison Sect Hell Envoy refused flatly, then found a table and sat down.

"Waiter — two bowls of Dragon Spring water."

After speaking, he slapped his palm against the table, and twenty triangular iron tokens clattered onto its surface.

The tokens looked ordinary at a glance, but upon closer inspection, they were anything but. Beyond the unusual material, each one was carved with the image of a dragon — and those dragons actually writhed and moved, as though alive.

In truth, these were a type of formation array.

Shortly after, a man resembling a shop waiter hurried over.

Upon seeing this waiter, Chu Feng's expression shifted.

Because there was something unusual about him.

Though he appeared human, his body and face were covered in scales. And those scales were remarkable — not fish scales, nor snake scales, but something more akin to dragon scales.

"Please wait just a moment, esteemed guests."

The waiter collected the Dragon Spring Coins and left.

"Ah, good sir, if you have any extra, would you trade me ten Dragon Spring Coins? I can add these as well — would that suffice?"

"I've spent over five hundred years searching for the Dragon Breath Spring Hall, and I've finally found it today, but..."

The silver-haired elder approached again, and in addition to the noble weapon saber, he now held a Universe Bag as well.

"Five hundred years, and you couldn't find even ten Dragon Spring Coins? That means you either never searched in earnest, or you never searched at all."
