"So you knew about Yin Ren's plan all along?"
"From the very beginning, you never actually intended to help me — you were helping Yin Ren?"
Chu Feng demanded, directing his questions at Princess Xiaoxiao.
Though Chu Feng was desperate to save Xian Miaomiao, he had never truly intended to disregard Princess Xiaoxiao's life.
He still considered her a friend. His plan had been to save Xian Miaomiao first and then figure out a way to help the princess.
But the situation before him filled Chu Feng with bitter disappointment.
"I never intended to harm you, but… I don't want to die either. If you insist on misunderstanding me, then so be it," Princess Xiaoxiao said.
"Your Highness, don't you see? This Chu Feng only cares about saving his precious Xian Miaomiao — he couldn't care less about whether you live or die."
"There's no need to explain yourself to someone like him. Let this old man deal with him."
As Master Yin Ren spoke, the power of an eighth-level Dragon Transformation formation burst forth, sealing Chu Feng within a cage of barrier energy.
Feeling the formation's power pressing down on him, Chu Feng furrowed his brow.
He could sense that Master Yin Ren's formation was incredibly powerful. Although it was still at the eighth level of Dragon Transformation, it was vastly stronger than before — so strong, in fact, that even Chu Feng wasn't confident he could break free.
"Chu Feng, Niantian Daoist and the others are pouring everything they have into the outer formation from outside. And since my array has a sealing effect, they have no idea what's happening in here."
"Surrender quietly, and spare yourself unnecessary pain," Master Yin Ren said to Chu Feng.
"Surrender? So you want to bind me inside Princess Xiaoxiao's soul, just like Miaomiao?"
"I never imagined that not only is Miaomiao your remedy, but I, Chu Feng, am as well."
Chu Feng turned his gaze toward Princess Xiaoxiao.
"Master Yin Ren — what does Chu Feng mean? Are you truly planning to seal his soul inside mine as well?"
"But you promised me — you said you would never harm Chu Feng, no matter what!"
Princess Xiaoxiao looked at Master Yin Ren, panic creeping into her voice.
"Harm whom, exactly?"
A thunderous voice rang out at that very instant.
Immediately after, the formation blanketing the area shattered into pieces.
As the remnants of barrier energy drifted apart and dissolved…
Niantian Daoist, Holy Light Buyu, and Holy Light Baimei materialized before their eyes.
They moved without hesitation and positioned themselves directly in front of Chu Feng.
"Yin Ren — did you really think we trusted you so blindly?"
"You asked us to power the formation, and you expected us to comply without question while ignoring Young Hero Chu Feng's fate?"
"To tell you the truth, Niantian Daoist noticed long ago that your formation contained a hidden sealing power."
"The only reason he didn't expose you was because we were waiting for you to reveal your true, wretched colors."
Holy Light Baimei declared.
"Master Yin Ren…"
Seeing the three of them standing before her, Princess Xiaoxiao grew visibly flustered. Instinctively, she stepped behind Master Yin Ren.
He had told her before that he had a means of escape — but that had been when Holy Light Baimei and the others were busy cultivating. Now they were standing right here, staring them both down, and she had no idea whether the escape method Master Yin Ren had spoken of would still work.
