"Then what is his cultivation level?" Chu Feng asked.
"I don't know his exact cultivation level either. I only know he's far from simple."
"The Sect Master regards him with extreme importance—she's grooming him as the future Sect Master." Duan Liufeng said.
"The future Sect Master?"
The current generation of the Wo Long Martial Sect was widely regarded as having produced more outstanding young talents than any previous generation in its entire history.
And yet, under these exact circumstances, the Sect Master of the Wo Long Martial Sect was preparing to pass the position of future Sect Master to someone who had appeared out of nowhere.
That alone spoke volumes about just how remarkable this person truly was.
"Brother Duan, I understand what you mean. I'm mentally prepared," Chu Feng said.
"Although face is important for a man, as the saying goes—a gentleman may wait ten years to settle a score."
"Even if you're no match for him right now, with your talent, you'll surpass him sooner or later."
"A true man should know when to bend and when to stand tall."
"Young brother, I know you're someone with great inner strength. I believe that no matter how this turns out—win or lose—you can handle it."
"Now go back and rest. Adjust your condition properly. No matter what happens tomorrow, you should face it in your best form." Duan Liufeng said.
Hearing this, Chu Feng headed toward his own residence.
Chu Feng certainly wasn't going to rest, because he was still unwilling to give up. He still wanted to try—to see whether he could break through the final layer of the Wo Long Soul Armor's seal.
If the auxiliary barrier formation couldn't help him, then he would rely on himself.
Whoosh—
But just then, Chu Feng felt an overwhelming wave of pressure suddenly descend.
In that instant, it was as though time itself had frozen. More precisely, time in his surroundings had come to a complete standstill.
Chu Feng sensed that the people outside his residence had all been frozen in place. Every single one of them had been temporarily locked down by an overwhelmingly powerful force.
Only the space within the bounds of Chu Feng's residence remained normal.
And all of this originated from the direction of Duan Liufeng.
Chu Feng turned to look. A figure had already appeared soundlessly beside Duan Liufeng.
It was an extraordinarily poised woman of breathtaking beauty, with an aura that transcended the ordinary.
But compared to her elegance, her presence was utterly suffocating.
It felt as though she had already transcended the mortal world—as if she were a goddess.
There was no need to guess. Chu Feng knew that this person could only be the most powerful being in the entire Wo Long Martial Sect—the Sect Master.
"Disciple Chu Feng greets the Sect Master."
Upon seeing her, Chu Feng immediately performed a deep bow.
Chu Feng was not one to flatter others, but setting aside his status as a disciple, which demanded he show the Sect Master proper respect—for Zi Ling's sake alone, Chu Feng had no choice but to submit to this Sect Master.
If it were only for himself, he might not have yielded. But for Zi Ling, he had to.
Yet the Sect Master offered no acknowledgment of Chu Feng's greeting. She kept her gaze fixed on Duan Liufeng—she had apparently come for him.
"Who gave you permission to use my auxiliary barrier formation?" the Sect Master asked in a cold voice. Though her words were directed at Duan Liufeng, her eyes swept briefly over Chu Feng as well.
That single glance sent a chill down Chu Feng's spine. Those eyes were far too cold—and far too lethal.
Her question had also exposed the lie Duan Liufeng had just told. He had never actually obtained the Sect Master's permission for the auxiliary barrier formation.
"Sect Master, this was entirely my idea. Chu Feng had nothing to do with it," Duan Liufeng hurried to explain.
"Of course I know it was your idea. Duan Liufeng… have I given you too much authority? Have you forgotten your place?"
"Kneel before me."
The Sect Master's voice suddenly thundered like a clap of divine judgment.
That single command didn't merely shake heaven and earth—Chu Feng felt as though his own body was on the verge of exploding.
