But hearing him say this, things were going in exactly the direction Chu Feng had anticipated.

Gongsun Yuntian suddenly rose to his feet and bowed, speaking with the tone of someone making a solemn pledge.
This fellow was usually incredibly arrogant, carrying himself with an air of superiority. He was cold and dismissive even toward his own kin.
But who would have thought that before someone of the Black Evil Old Demon's stature, he would be so courteous — even warmly enthusiastic.
Though anyone with eyes could see he was simply flattering the old demon.
Chu Feng wasn't surprised by this in the slightest. From the very beginning, he had known that Gongsun Yuntian's arrogance, pride, and aloofness were nothing more than an act.

The old demon didn't explain what that item was for, nor did he elaborate on its use.
However, he promised that if they could bring it back, they would not only be permitted to marry his granddaughter but would also receive generous rewards.
And regardless of success or failure, they would still be rewarded.
Of course, there was only one item — whoever managed to bring it back safely would earn the right to marry the Black Evil Old Demon's granddaughter.
"Young friends, the Asura Burial Ground is an exceedingly dangerous place."
"If you are unwilling, you may withdraw now. There is still time."

After explaining his purpose, the Black Evil Old Demon added these words to Chu Feng and Gongsun Yuntian.
There didn't seem to be any intent to pressure them in his statement.
However, as he spoke, Chu Feng noticed a subtle shift in the old demon's gaze.
Though that look flashed by in an instant, Chu Feng still caught the unsettling message it carried.
He had a feeling that the Black Evil Old Demon's words sounded nice enough, but if someone actually refused, the old demon might not be so courteous after all.
Yet neither Chu Feng nor Gongsun Yuntian had any intention of backing down.
Gongsun Yuntian had come here for this very betrothal tournament.
And Chu Feng had persevered for the chance to enter the Asura Burial Ground.

True to his word, the Black Evil Old Demon immediately set up a formation on both Chu Feng and Gongsun Yuntian — one on each of them.
This formation had a time limit. Within a certain period, it would prevent either party from harming the other.
In other words, with the formation in place, Gongsun Yuntian's power could not harm Chu Feng.
And Chu Feng's power, likewise, could not harm Gongsun Yuntian.

Next, the Black Evil Old Demon produced two boxes and handed one to Chu Feng and the other to Gongsun Yuntian.
When Chu Feng opened the box, he was somewhat surprised.
Inside was a set of black armor, along with a black saber.
Both the armor and the saber were exquisitely crafted.
And they were both items meant for world spirits.
Gongsun Yuntian's set was identical to Chu Feng's — the same black armor and saber.
Chu Feng guessed these were what the evil spirits inside the Asura Burial Ground wore.
