Following the map coordinates he had discovered, Chu Feng quickly arrived at the entrance to one of the barrier gates.
The location was hidden within an ordinary stretch of forest.
Much like the key formation from before, if you couldn't sense it, you wouldn't be able to see it even if it were right in front of you. You could walk right past it and never notice a thing.
In fact, this entrance was even more concealed than that key formation.
With the power of his Heavenly Eyes, Chu Feng had been able to perceive the key formation.
But this entrance — he could neither see nor sense.
"Brother Chu Feng, are you sure this is the entrance?"
"Honestly, I'm at least a Dragon Pattern-level Holy-cloak Spirit World Master. My barrier techniques may not compare to yours, but I'm pretty skilled when it comes to observation methods."
"But here, I can't sense anything at all."
The mischievous girl wasn't content to simply stand still. She had leapt up onto a tree trunk and sat there, dangling her slender legs while scanning her surroundings, as though she were desperate to see through the concealment.
"Girl, your talent is decent, but you're still a bit green."
"Watch your Brother Chu Feng work his magic."
Chu Feng smiled faintly, then released his barrier power.
His palm moved like a brush, and the barrier force flowed like ink. In moments, a special formation took shape before him.
It was called special because, while it had the form of a formation, it held none of a formation's power.
"Is that... a star map?"
Yet the moment Song Yun saw it, her beautiful eyes lit up.
She realized that the formation Chu Feng had constructed was a fragment of the luminous map that veiled the void.
"Not bad — you haven't disgraced that Holy-cloak title after all. You managed to figure something out."
Chu Feng nodded, then pointed forward with one finger. The formation drifting before him sailed ahead.
Hum—
Suddenly, the formation seemed to collide with something invisible and burst apart in all directions.
The scattered formation dissolved into a cascade of light, and wherever that light passed, a physical object began to materialize.
Once it had fully emerged, it could be seen for what it was — a stone gate.
"Wow, amazing! You actually found it!"
Song Yun leapt down from the tree and clapped her hands in admiration.
Although the stone gate looked perfectly ordinary, Song Yun knew it had to be one of the three barrier gates.
"Girl, let me make this clear beforehand."
"This is no place for fun. There will be dangerous things inside."
"If you insist on coming with me, I can't guarantee your safety. If something goes wrong, don't blame me," Chu Feng said to Song Yun.
"Don't worry, Brother Chu Feng. I absolutely won't cause any trouble, and I absolutely won't become a burden. If my strength really isn't enough to keep going in there, I'll turn around and run right back out," Song Yun said, tilting her small face upward to make her promise.
Looking at Song Yun like this, Chu Feng truly had no choice. He could only bring the girl along with him as they stepped through.
Once Chu Feng and Song Yun passed through the barrier gate, the stone gate vanished.
But it vanished only from the forest.
Behind Chu Feng and Song Yun, the stone gate was still there — meaning they had a way out. If they wanted to leave, they could do so at any time.
Seeing the gate still present, Chu Feng breathed a slight sigh of relief.
The world beyond the stone gate was a cavern with stone walls on all sides.
