With the blessing of the Celestial Master's whisk, the formation designed to collect heaven and earth treasures quickly took shape.
Chu Feng pinched a seal with one hand and gave a soft shout. The formation, which spanned several hundred meters in area, shrank down to no larger than a fingernail.
Chu Feng took out the Spirit Realm Compass and placed the formation upon it. The compass immediately began to spin.
It had only made three rotations before locking onto the southeast direction. Although the compass was still somewhat unstable, Chu Feng already knew the approximate location of the heaven and earth treasure.
"Seems like it's not too far away."
Chu Feng quickly launched himself into the air and headed toward the treasure's location.
However, the moment he rose above the void, before he had even left the mountain range, several figures came streaking toward him. They were precisely the fairy-like beauties Chu Feng had encountered earlier.
Since Chu Feng had made no effort to conceal himself, they spotted him almost immediately.
"You again?"
At first, they might not have been certain, but as they drew closer, they confirmed it was indeed Chu Feng.
Chu Feng, however, paid them no mind and intended to leave directly.
Unfortunately, a wall of martial force materialized out of thin air, blocking his path.
It was formed from the martial power of a Supreme Realm expert — a second-grade Supreme, to be precise. It wouldn't actually stop Chu Feng, but he didn't immediately break through it with force. After all, he knew that among these women, there existed one whose strength was particularly formidable.
That was the one with the innocent, pure-looking face.
Chu Feng turned his gaze toward the woman who had conjured the wall of martial force to block him.
"Why are you stopping me?" he asked in a cold voice.
"I'm asking you — why are you here?"
The woman had decent looks, but her expression was incredibly sharp and hostile.
That made Chu Feng rather disgusted, so his attitude was far from polite.
"What does my being here have to do with you?"
"What does it have to do with me?"
"Earlier, outside that teleportation formation, demonic creatures were slaughtering martial artists, and you just happened to appear there."
"After you left, we discovered that the teleportation formation may have been affected by the demonic creatures' power. It can no longer function, and everyone inside is trapped — they won't be able to get out anytime soon."
"Anyone who happened to pass by outside the formation and saw that scene would have kept their distance. There's no way they'd approach."
"And yet you just happened to be there. You need to give us a reasonable explanation."
The woman pressed, her voice sharp.
Chu Feng had not known that the teleportation formation was malfunctioning.
After all, he had come out of that very formation.
But before he left, he had felt nothing unusual.
Of course, the power of a teleportation formation was connected to both ends. Generally, the departure formation played a greater role. The fact that Chu Feng had exited smoothly might have been related to the formation he had arrived from.
After all, that formation had been tampered with by that old Daoist, so it was only natural that it possessed extraordinary power.
But this was obviously not something he could explain to these people. Even if he did, they wouldn't believe him.
With people like this, rather than explaining, lying would be far more effective.
"Just passing through. Is that not allowed?" Chu Feng said.
"Just passing through?"
"Fine — say you were just passing through at the teleportation formation. We'll let that slide."
"But in this mountain range, demonic creatures have also just appeared, and from the look of things, they couldn't have left long ago."
"And yet you just happen to be here too. Are you going to tell me that's also a coincidence?"
The woman pressed again.
At the same time, every woman present — except for the one with the innocent face — was staring at Chu Feng with the same interrogating gaze, as though examining a criminal.
Their eyes suggested that the slightest misstep in his answer would bring about his utter doom.
But Chu Feng was not afraid.
Despite the fact that every one of these women was extraordinary — each could be called a genius — in truth, apart from that innocent-faced woman, the rest were beneath his notice.
As long as the innocent-faced one harbored no hostility toward him, these women could attack all at once and he still wouldn't flinch.
So Chu Feng not only remained composed but adopted an openly arrogant tone as he said, "It really is just a coincidence."
"A coincidence? If it truly were a coincidence, why would you be so nervous and try to flee the moment you saw us?"
