"Thank you for your trouble, Brother Shaoyu."
Now that he knew his clansmen were safe, Chu Feng finally put his mind at ease.
Just as Fumo Shaoyu had said — with no worries weighing on him, he could act more freely and without restraint.
"Oh right, this is where your clansmen are hiding."
As he spoke, Fumo Shaoyu handed a small scroll to Chu Feng.
Chu Feng took it and unrolled it for a look. It turned out to be a map, marking the location where the Chu Heavenly Clan members had been relocated.
He had to admit, it really was a place that wouldn't easily draw anyone's attention.
But thinking about how so many of his clansmen had suddenly left the places they were familiar with to settle somewhere new, Chu Feng couldn't help feeling a pang of guilt.
"My clansmen have suffered because of me," Chu Feng lamented.
After all, the Chu Heavenly Clan had once been the ruling power of the Ancestral Martial Star Domain. For them to vanish overnight was bound to stir up plenty of speculation and rumors.
"Suffered? With a clansman as remarkable as you, they should count it an honor," Fumo Shaoyu said.
"Oh, Brother Shaoyu, who is that girl over there?"
"She seems to know me."
Chu Feng glanced at the black-haired girl and asked in a low voice.
"Oh, her? That girl came looking for you," Fumo Shaoyu replied.
"Looking for me?"
Chu Feng was genuinely surprised.
He was certain he had never met this black-haired girl before.
"That's right. She showed up at your family's residence and asked for you by name. She seemed urgent, and since I knew where you were, I brought her along."
"But she's been awfully secretive — whatever she needs from you, she wouldn't tell me."
"I actually thought she was some girl you'd jilted, but looking at her now, that doesn't seem to be the case," Fumo Shaoyu said in a hushed voice.
"Of course not. I don't even know this girl," Chu Feng said.
"Alright, alright, you two talk it out."
"Whatever she needs, just ask her yourself."
With that, Fumo Shaoyu tugged Fumo Xin'er away.
The two siblings left with grins on their faces — their bond really was something special.
Chu Feng then walked over to the black-haired girl.
"Miss, you were looking for me?"
"Let's find somewhere quiet to talk," the black-haired girl said.
With that, she stepped into the air and began walking off into the distance.
Chu Feng followed after her.
The black-haired girl didn't go very far. She stopped in an area where no one was around.
Whoosh—
Hummm—
With a sweep of her arm, a barrier materialized, sealing both Chu Feng and herself inside.
It was a Saint-level barrier — and a Dragon Mark one at that.
Though Chu Feng's Mental Power had been devoured, his instincts as a Spirit World Master remained sharp. He could tell that this woman was no ordinary Dragon Mark Saint-clothed Spirit World Master.
Her barrier power was formidable. She had very likely mastered the Dragon Transformation Sensation.
As for her cultivation, she was concealing it, so Chu Feng couldn't gauge her level. But her barrier techniques alone were enough to leave a deep impression on this black-haired girl.
She might look relatively unassuming, but she was far from ordinary.
"Let me ask you one more time."
"Are you truly Chu Feng?"
"The Chu Feng who was abandoned by the Chu Heavenly Clan and raised in the Chu Family of the Nine Provinces Continent in the Ancestral Martial Lower Realm?"
The black-haired girl asked.
"I am. And who are you, miss?"
