"I have a question. Has the power inside the Ancient Blood Refinement Pool always remained the same, or was there a point when it weakened significantly?" Chu Feng asked.
"It did weaken. My Master told me that several hundred years ago, the power inside the Ancient Blood Refinement Pool was terrifying. Back then, we couldn't even move, let alone entertain any thought of activating the pool."
"The Ancient Blood Refinement Pool back then was far too violent. There was simply no way we could have opened it."
"But then one day, the pool's power weakened — and not by a small margin. It weakened dramatically."
"It was precisely because of that my Master believed we finally had a chance to open the Ancient Blood Refinement Pool." At this point, Yin Zhuanghong's expression suddenly changed, and she asked, "Could it be... that the treasure inside the Ancient Blood Refinement Pool was taken at that time?"
"Very likely," Chu Feng said.
"Then... who was it?" Yin Zhuanghong's brow furrowed tightly.
"It doesn't matter who it was. Don't dwell on it. Ancient ruins don't belong to anyone — the strong simply take what they can," Chu Feng consoled her.
He said this because he could see that the Red-clothed Holy Land regarded the Ancient Blood Refinement Pool as extremely important.
But what difference did that make?
During a period when the Red-clothed Holy Land considered the pool impossible to open, someone had walked in and claimed its supreme treasure.
One could imagine that person's strength far surpassed the Ancient Blood Refinement Pool itself. If the Red-clothed Holy Land tried to seek trouble with that individual, they would only be bringing suffering upon themselves.
"You're right. It's just... I don't know if my Master and the other elders would be willing to let it go. They regard this Ancient Blood Refinement Pool far too highly," Yin Zhuanghong said.
"Let's focus on surviving first, then worry about the rest."
As Chu Feng said this, his own brow furrowed slightly.
The reason was that he had discovered this passage was far longer than he had anticipated. Even though he now wielded the power of the formation's core — granting him tremendous strength and incredible speed — pushing forward at full power, he still felt as though the path ahead stretched on without end.
Moreover, there was very little he could sense. What he could detect were generally the guardian formations.
He couldn't sense the current state of the Red-clothed Holy Land's members.
But he could sense a guardian formation that had been activated by outsiders. Chu Feng believed that formation was likely where the Red-clothed Holy Land's elders had taken refuge.
The problem was that this very guardian formation was currently under attack by yet another external force, and it was on the verge of collapsing.
Most importantly, although Chu Feng had obtained the power of the formation's core, he was not omnipotent. He had no way to use the core's power to reinforce that guardian formation.
The only thing he could do was reach the scene before the guardian formation was breached. Otherwise, even with the core's power, he might not be able to save the Red-clothed Holy Land's elders.
