He had given this elder a supreme treasure — one that could conceal one's aura and hide one's form. The purpose was to allow him to move freely through the Red-clothed Sacred Ground and keep watch on that Shura, so he couldn't escape.
"I was watching him just fine, but then that Shura suddenly walked out of the palace, looked in my direction, and made a beckoning gesture."
"After he made that gesture, his physical body actually transformed in an instant. Streaks of light shot out and dissipated, and then it turned into this letter."
"When I entered his palace, his aura was completely gone. He had already left."
As the elder spoke, he produced a letter and presented it before Tuoba Cheng'an.
Seeing this, everyone understood. That fellow called Shura had discovered they were secretly surveilling him. So before escaping, he had deliberately set up a formation — using it to take on his own appearance to draw the attention of the Heavenly Gates elders, and then transform into a letter.
Clearly, this letter had been left for them.
And so, Tuoba Cheng'an took the letter.

The moment the letter was opened, it immediately transformed into a beam of light that shot straight up into the sky. The light scattered in midair, forming several lines of large characters that hung suspended in the heavens.
Though the light was dazzling, the characters were perfectly legible.
But the moment those words registered, the expressions of the Heavenly Gates elders twisted in fury.
Because those lines had indeed been written for them.
Only the contents were absolutely humiliating to read.

I'd long heard that the Heavenly Gates were wild and domineering.
