"Master?"
Upon hearing Yuan Shu's words, Chu Feng's gaze shifted. He had already realized something.
"Ha ha, Brother Chu Feng, don't tell me you thought I was that old Daoist's close friend?"
"Brother Chu Feng, you've misunderstood. That old Daoist's close friend is my Master."
"Many of the formations here were also laid down by my Master." Yuan Shu said.
After that, Yuan Shu gave Chu Feng a general account of what had happened.
Yuan Shu's Master was named Tang Chen, and he was known as Grandmaster Tang Chen.
This Grandmaster Tang Chen was a figure of immense renown throughout the entire Sacred Light Galaxy.
And many of the formations in the Seven Sun Mountain Range had, in fact, been crafted by Grandmaster Tang Chen's hand.
However, Grandmaster Tang Chen lived in seclusion here, and the world at large had no idea he was in this place — only Yuan Shu knew of his whereabouts.
Had Chu Feng not been sent by that old Daoist, Yuan Shu would never have revealed this information to him.
After all, Grandmaster Tang Chen's reputation was simply too vast. If it became known that he was hiding here, it wouldn't just be the various powers of the myriad star domains that would come paying their respects — even the colossal figures and supreme experts of the entire Sacred Light Galaxy would come flocking to the foot of the Seven Sun Mountain Range.
When Chu Feng heard all of this, his impression of that old Daoist took on an entirely new dimension.
He had always known the old Daoist was powerful, but he never imagined him to be this powerful.
Since Grandmaster Tang Chen was a figure of fame throughout the Sacred Light Galaxy, then as Grandmaster Tang Chen's close friend, the old Daoist's strength and status must be equally extraordinary.
"Brother Yuan Shu, since you and I are close in age, I won't stand on ceremony with you. From today onward, let us address each other as brothers. You are a few years my senior, so you shall be my elder brother."
Chu Feng said to Yuan Shu.
By now, Chu Feng had learned that Yuan Shu was actually only a little over five hundred years old — far younger than those old monsters like Zhang Duotuo.
Back then, the old Daoist and Tang Chen had made a wager: each would cultivate an outstanding disciple and send them to break the other's formation. Whichever disciple won would take the wager.
It now seemed that Yuan Shu was the disciple Tang Chen had personally selected.
Although Yuan Shu was considerably older than Chu Feng, both in cultivation and in the art of Spirit Formation, he was genuinely a rare genius.
And from the perspective of the old Daoist's wager with Grandmaster Tang Chen, Yuan Shu was, in effect, Chu Feng's rival.
However, Chu Feng had a very favorable impression of Yuan Shu, because Yuan Shu was a man of genuine feeling and sincerity.
So Chu Feng harbored no hostility toward him whatsoever. On the contrary, Yuan Shu was very much to his liking, which was why he was willing to call him brother.
"Brother Chu Feng, I'm not just a few years older than you — I'm five hundred years older." Yuan Shu corrected him with a laugh.
"By a martial cultivator's standards, it's practically the same," Chu Feng said with a smile.
"Ha ha, I suppose that's true." Yuan Shu laughed heartily as well.
"Then, Brother Yuan Shu, I wonder — where is the formation that Grandmaster Tang Chen laid down?" Chu Feng asked.
He had not forgotten the purpose of his coming here and wished to proceed with breaking that formation as soon as possible.
"As for where that formation is, I don't know either. Only my Master knows."
"Unfortunately, my Master is not currently in the Seven Sun Mountain Range," Yuan Shu said.
"Then where did Grandmaster Tang Chen go, and approximately when might he return?" Chu Feng asked.
"When Master left, he only said that things had been unsettled in the Upper Realm of Reincarnation lately, and he needed to take care of certain matters. He told me to wait for him in the Seven Sun Mountain Range and not to leave during his absence."
"As for when he would return, Master did not say."
At this point, Yuan Shu suddenly turned his gaze toward Chu Feng.
"Brother Chu Feng, if you have no pressing matters elsewhere, you should stay within the Seven Sun Mountain Range."
"The Seven Sun Mountain Range is protected by the grand formation my Master placed here. Should anything truly arise, it can keep you safe."
Hearing this, Chu Feng realized the situation was more serious than it appeared.
Yuan Shu, after all, was a Supreme Realm powerhouse.
And based on Chu Feng's estimation, Yuan Shu was most certainly not merely a first-tier Supreme — he could very well be a second-tier Supreme, possibly even a third-tier.
Such cultivation was already formidable by any measure.
Yet even he was instructed by his Master to remain inside the Seven Sun Mountain Range. From that alone, one could imagine that the "unsettled times" his Master spoke of were no ordinary matter.
"Brother Yuan Shu, could it be that a powerful enemy has come to the Seven Sun Mountain Range?" Chu Feng asked.
"Brother Chu Feng, there are some things that really shouldn't be spoken of outside. But since it's you, I won't keep it from you."
"The unrest my Master spoke of is not caused by any contemporary cultivator."
"It is creatures from the ancient era." Yuan Shu said to Chu Feng, his expression grim.
