The exploration of the ancient ruins this time around was a rather casual affair for the Chongxu Temple — all elders were free to come and go as they pleased.
After Chu Feng departed, Song Ge also left the ancient ruins.
However, Song Ge was something of a celebrity within the Chongxu Temple.
As a result, tracking down her whereabouts was an easy matter for Chu Feng.
Near the Seven Sun Mountain Range, there was a city, and Song Ge was currently within it.
The surroundings of the Seven Sun Mountain Range were vast, but that was a relative thing. With Chu Feng's cultivation, he could reach it in a short time.
And so, in no more than a few moments, Chu Feng went from the ancient ruins to that city.
The city was large, but nothing could escape Chu Feng's perceptive gaze. Before long, he had located Song Ge.
Chu Feng could see that Song Ge was currently with a woman — a female elder of the Chongxu Temple as well. And by a curious coincidence, Chu Feng knew this woman.
She was Aunt Liu's daughter, Wang Lian.
But right now, it wasn't just Song Ge and Wang Lian.
Also with them were other people.
Among that group were both men and women, though the men predominated, and all of them were dressed in fine, luxurious clothing — they looked like members of wealthy, prestigious families.
They weren't people from the Chongxu Temple, but from other sects.
Those people seemed to have bumped into Song Ge by chance, but several of the men had shown an unusual interest in her.
At this moment, they were inviting Song Ge to a teahouse for tea, but Song Ge had no desire to go.
Although Song Ge wasn't interested, Wang Lian was showing great enthusiasm and was eagerly trying to convince Song Ge to accept the invitation.
Of course, from the look in Wang Lian's eyes, Chu Feng could tell that she wasn't actually interested in drinking tea at a teahouse — she was interested in those men.
Now, in Chu Feng's eyes, those men were utterly unremarkable, whether in terms of status or strength.
But for Wang Lian, their social standing and power made them excellent candidates for marriage. If she could end up with any of them, it would be a tremendous step up for her.
Previously, when Wang Lian had seen Chu Feng, she had been unbearably haughty.
Yet now, before these men, she was the picture of eager servility.
As for Song Ge, although she was quite cold toward those people, she couldn't bring herself to refuse Wang Lian outright.
Song Ge was stuck in a very difficult position.
Chu Feng knew it was time for him to make his appearance.
And so, Chu Feng stepped out from the shadows into the open, deliberately walking past Song Ge to manufacture what would appear to be a chance encounter.
"Xiuluo?"
Sure enough, under Chu Feng's carefully arranged circumstances, Song Ge spotted him almost immediately.
For Song Ge, Chu Feng was the man who had saved her life.
On top of that, after rescuing her, he had talked with her at length about many things. The gratitude she already felt toward Chu Feng had only deepened into genuine fondness.
Upon seeing him, her face broke into a radiant smile, and with a few swift steps she was right in front of him.
"What a coincidence, running into you here!"
Song Ge was beaming like a blooming flower.
"Quite the coincidence indeed."
Chu Feng likewise wore an expression of pleasant surprise.
"Who is this guy?"
But when the men who had been vying for Song Ge's attention laid eyes on Chu Feng, their brows furrowed and displeasure crept into their gazes.
They had been fawning over Song Ge moments ago, only to be met with her indifference.
Yet the moment she saw this newcomer, she had transformed into an entirely different person. It made them both jealous and annoyed.
"Why is it him?"
As everyone sized up Chu Feng, Wang Lian's gaze also fell upon him.
But she didn't need to look twice. The very first glance was enough for her to recognize him.
"Elder Wang Lian, you know this person?" the others asked her.
