Chu Feng had fallen unconscious, unable to withstand the pain inflicted by the formation.
It took a long time before Chu Feng gradually came to.
After regaining consciousness, he was engulfed by excruciating pain that swept through his entire body — his head in particular felt as though it were about to explode.
It took quite a while before the pain began to subside, and Chu Feng slowly recovered his senses.
When Chu Feng discovered the Blade of the Dead God in his hand, even he was shocked.
"I actually got it?"
Chu Feng examined it carefully and confirmed that this was indeed the Blade of the Dead God.
He was overjoyed, because he had clearly lost consciousness before even approaching the Blade of the Dead God. He had assumed he had failed.
Yet now, the Blade of the Dead God was in his hand — and it was the genuine article.
Holding it in his grasp, though he could not use it, let alone unleash its full power, Chu Feng could feel just how formidable this weapon truly was.
"You're planning to give it to someone very important, aren't you?"
Suddenly, a voice sounded from behind Chu Feng. He turned to look and saw Yin Zhuanghong.
Yin Zhuanghong's complexion was deathly pale, and her aura was weak.
It was clear she had sustained severe injuries as well, yet in her hand she held a golden longsword — the Imperial Underworld Sword.
"You succeeded," Chu Feng said.
"You managed to obtain the Blade of the Dead God. If I couldn't get my hands on the Imperial Underworld Sword, wouldn't I have come here for nothing?" As Yin Zhuanghong spoke, a faint smile actually appeared at the corners of her lips.
Chu Feng was somewhat surprised. This was the first time he had ever seen Yin Zhuanghong smile since meeting her.
"So, you do know how to smile," Chu Feng said with a grin.
Hearing those words, Yin Zhuanghong realized that she had actually smiled at Chu Feng, and she hastily retracted her smile.
She became cold and frosty once more.
"What's the big deal? You look so much better when you smile — why insist on keeping a straight face?" Chu Feng said.
"Get up. You've been unconscious for ten days. It's time we leave," Yin Zhuanghong said.
"Ten days? I was unconscious for that long?" Chu Feng was quite astonished.
Yin Zhuanghong ignored Chu Feng. She had already turned and walked over to the staircase.
"Wait — did I really obtain the Blade of the Dead God on my own?" Chu Feng asked.
He was somewhat uncertain, because he wasn't sure whether he had personally secured the Blade of the Dead God.
"Of course you did. Otherwise, how would it be in your hand?"
"Come to think of it, I'm genuinely curious — how were you able to advance through that guardian formation and obtain the Blade of the Dead God even after losing consciousness?" Yin Zhuanghong looked at Chu Feng with a grave expression.
"You're saying I obtained the Blade of the Dead God while I was unconscious?" Even Chu Feng himself found that hard to believe.
"Then the bond between you and that world spirit of yours must be truly extraordinary, correct?"
Yin Zhuanghong asked. She was genuinely curious about what kind of world spirit could push Chu Feng to accomplish such a feat.
"I'm not really sure how to put it. In any case, she is very important to me," Chu Feng said.
"I understand."
"Let's go."
After saying this, Yin Zhuanghong began walking outward.
Chu Feng rose to his feet and followed Yin Zhuanghong down the stairs.
As they descended, Chu Feng noticed that all the other weapons had been sealed away behind an impenetrable barrier.
The barrier could not be broken through whatsoever.
This change had presumably been put in place to prevent Chu Feng and his companion from taking a second weapon after securing one they desired.
It was a thorough confirmation that the warning on the first floor had been no lie.
Once you entered here, you could truly only take one weapon.
"Here."
