The reason Chu Feng asked this was because of what had happened back then — it was because of this very Xu Moran that the elder of the Dantai Heavenly Clan had been punished.
So Chu Feng felt certain that the elder would not let Xu Moran off the hook. In truth, Chu Feng's question was nothing more than a jab at Xu Moran.

"BS — I wasn't here for you from the beginning, so why on earth would I need to tell you that?" Xu Moran shot back.
"Well, I wasn't here for Miss Mingyue from the beginning either, so why would I need to tell her that?" Chu Feng retorted.
"Well, aren't you something — twisting logic to your heart's content. Then go ahead and tell us: what exactly are you here for?" Xu Moran asked.
"I was invited here by Miss Dantai Xing'er." Chu Feng knew that words alone would be empty, so as he spoke, he produced the invitation letter that Dantai Xing'er had given him.
Xu Moran snatched the invitation out of his hand, examined it carefully, and then let a mocking smirk curl across his lips.
"A remarkably convincing forgery — no wonder you managed to sneak in. But you may be able to fool everyone else, not me. This invitation is fake," Xu Moran declared loudly.
"An actual forged invitation?"
"Just as I thought — Xu Moran was telling the truth all along. This son of Chu Xuanyuan is nothing but a despicable schemer."
"If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I never would have believed that a towering figure like Chu Xuanyuan could produce a son as shameless as Chu Feng."
