At the very top of a towering structure in Vermilion Bird City, Su Rou sat perched on the edge, her long, slender legs dangling in the air. Her hands braced against the eaves beneath her as she gazed into the distance.
A gentle breeze swept past, tousling her raven-black hair and swaying the hem of her elegant skirt, yet it could not stir her captivating beauty nor the melancholy expression she wore at this moment.
"Sister." Suddenly, a sweet voice rang out, and Su Mei appeared behind Su Rou.
"Little Mei, what are you doing here?" Su Rou was visibly surprised to see Su Mei, and happy too, but at the same time there was a barely perceptible flicker of panic in her eyes.
"Hee." Su Mei gave a bright smile but didn't answer Su Rou's question. Instead, she plopped down right next to her sister, playfully swinging her own lovely legs. She scrunched up her small nose and grinned at Su Rou. "Sister, do you wish Chu Feng were that Gray-Robed Gentleman?"
"Why do you ask?" Confusion swirled in Su Rou's beautiful eyes, but her unease deepened a shade.
"Hee, I hope so. I hope Chu Feng really is the Gray-Robed Gentleman, because I want to marry him." Su Mei turned her gaze toward the direction of the Azure Dragon Sect, a charming smile gracing her sweet face.
"Silly girl, your wish will come true. He likes you too, and sooner or later he'll marry you." Su Rou affectionately stroked Su Mei's silky hair — she truly loved her little sister.
"I know, I know he likes me. But what about you, Sister?" Su Mei suddenly asked.
"What?" The question caught Su Rou off guard, and her expression stiffened for an instant, leaving her at a complete loss for words.
"Do you want to marry Chu Feng, Sister?" Su Mei's smile didn't waver as she pressed on.
"I…" Su Rou's face was a tangle of emotions. Her full lips parted slightly, but no words came out.
Just then, Su Mei suddenly threw herself into Su Rou's arms, hugging her tightly. She pressed her lovely cheek against her sister's body and said softly:
"I want you to marry Chu Feng, Sister. I really, truly hope you can marry him. Chu Feng is the person I love most in the world, but you are also the person I love most. To me, you two are the closest, dearest, most beloved people alive. I really hope the three of us can be together forever."
Su Mei's words were sweet and lilting, a joy to hear. Most importantly, they were utterly sincere — every last word from the heart.
After hearing her sister's words, Su Rou was stunned for a moment. Her eyes reddened, her face filled with an emotion too deep for words. Then she opened her arms and held her precious sister tight, pressing her cheek against Su Mei's soft hair.
She didn't speak, but she wore a smile — a smile of pure happiness.
After Li Changqing's injuries fully healed, Chu Feng set off together with Li Changqing and Qi Fengyang, though the three of them headed to entirely different destinations.
Li Changqing returned to the Azure Dragon Sect. With all the commotion Chu Feng had stirred up at the Hundred Sects Assembly, rumors were swirling everywhere. As Sect Master, he naturally needed to go back and take charge.
As for Qi Fengyang, he had received a summons from the Lord of the Qilin Manor and was recalled to the Qilin Manor. The news of his breakthrough into the Heaven Martial realm had already spread, and that was a major event for all of Qingzhou — for the Qilin Manor, it was even more significant. The Lord naturally wanted to hear the truth firsthand.
Chu Feng, for his part, headed toward Xuanwu City. After encountering the Dragon Daoist in the Myriad Bones Graveyard, he had already decided to leave Qingzhou as soon as possible to hone his abilities as a Spirit World Master.
And to improve those abilities, he had to follow the instructions of that mysterious and powerful demon beast inside the Asura Ghost Tower — to seek out the treasure it had left behind.
However, before leaving Qingzhou, there was one more thing Chu Feng needed to do. He wanted to make a trip to Xuanwu City to see if he could find another entrance to the Imperial Burial and possibly gain something from within.
"That's—?"
At this moment, Chu Feng was riding atop the White-Headed Eagle, flying at breakneck speed toward Xuanwu City. Suddenly, his brows furrowed. He quickly changed course, steering the White-Headed Eagle in an entirely different direction.
"Run, run! If they catch us, we're dead!"
