Elder
In the face of the domineering Elder Xing Yi, even Qing Peng appeared fragile and powerless.
"Since Elder Xing Yi insists on protecting
"But can my young master be returned to me?"
Qing Peng ultimately capitulated.
In truth, even though he was deeply unwilling, he had no choice. He didn't even dare to continue pressing the matter.
He knew that Elder Xing Yi was someone who meant every word he said. Forget dealing with him—if Elder Xing Yi truly grew displeased, killing him on the spot was entirely within the realm of possibility.
As for Elder Xing Yi, he didn't make things difficult for Qing Peng. After all, his purpose in intervening had been to protect Chu Feng, and now that his goal was achieved, he returned
Qing Peng indeed said nothing more and left immediately, taking Han Yu with him.
Watching Qing Peng's retreating figure, the crowd turned their gazes once again toward Elder Xing Yi.
Even among Martial Immortals, there were differences in strength. Elder Xing Yi was by no means the strongest among them.
But at the very least, in front of Qing Peng, Elder Xing Yi had been more than powerful enough.
So Qing Peng's defeat today was well-deserved. Still, they remained unable to determine why Elder Xing Yi had chosen to help Chu Feng.
The prevailing speculation was that the Starfall Sacred Ground also wished to recruit Chu Feng.
Yet judging by the attitudes of the Starfall Sacred Ground's various geniuses, they didn't seem to particularly like Chu Feng.
For a time, no one could figure out the Starfall Sacred Ground's true stance toward Chu Feng.
Rumble, rumble, rumble—
Just as the crowd continued to speculate in uncertainty, a series of deafening roars suddenly erupted, and the very void shuddered violently. All the martial cultivators, apart from those at the Martial Immortal level, felt as though they had lost the power to hover in the air. They swayed unsteadily in the void, unable to keep their footing.
The sudden change threw the cultivators into a panic, for such power was exceedingly rare.
And so, every pair of eyes turned toward the direction from which the roars had come.
But upon looking, the fear in their eyes not only faded—it was replaced by excitement.
The Void Divine Tree.
The massive, sky-shrouding branches of the Void Divine Tree were trembling and shifting.
It was the source of this cataclysmic upheaval. It was what made the very void tremble.
And what was the Void Divine Tree? It was nothing less than a divine miracle of the Upper Realm. Even the slightest stirring of its branches was enough to draw everyone's attention. With such tremendous commotion, there was a good chance some sort of opportunity might arise—and that was why the crowd was so exhilarated.
However, the anticipated opportunity never materialized. The Void Divine Tree merely shifted its branches and leaves slightly before coming to a stop.
Once it ceased its movement, the trembling of the void subsided as well.
The world grew tranquil once more, just as it had been before, with nothing changed.
Seeing this, many present couldn't help but feel at least a twinge of disappointment.
"What's that? Look, everyone—there are words over there!"
Suddenly, someone with sharp eyes cried out in excitement.
At that shout, everyone leaned in for a closer look.
And when they saw it, many of them grew excited as well.
Because there was indeed a line of writing that had appeared on the Void Divine Tree.
The characters were written terribly—so terribly it was almost offensive, like the scrawl of a child who had just learned to write.
No, saying it resembled a child's handwriting was an insult to children.
Such ugly writing was virtually unheard of in the world. It was a spectacle all its own.
And the content of the writing was even more inelegant.
