ROAR—
A thunderous roar shook the earth.
Several dozen colossal beasts, each over thirty meters long and more than ten meters tall, were stampeding at breakneck speed.
These beasts were semi-transparent, their entire bodies radiating a brilliant glow. They looked both divine and terrifying.
Any ordinary person who laid eyes on such creatures would have been scared witless, turning tail and fleeing without a second thought.
Yet right now, one person stood atop a winged cheetah, giving chase to the herd of beasts.
Though the cheetah's body was only a few meters long, its wings stretched over ten meters, beating at an astonishing frequency.
Perhaps thanks to those wings, its speed of flight was nothing short of incredible.
Before long, the cheetah caught up with the herd. The man standing upon it spread his palm, and a golden, net-like object materialized and floated above it.
Swish—
With a sudden flick of his arm, the glowing object shot forward.
As it flew, it expanded rapidly. In the blink of an eye, it became a colossal net spanning several thousand meters.
The net blotted out the sky as it descended, enveloping every last one of those dozens of beasts.
Once trapped, the golden net began contracting, slicing through the beasts' bodies like a razor's edge.
The beasts roared ceaselessly, unleashing wave after wave of power in a desperate attempt to break free, but all was in vain. In the end, they were mercilessly shredded by the net.
After the beasts perished, they transformed into piles of golden bones. Every bone looked the same — only about two chi long, yet each emitted a faint glow.
Though only a few dozen beasts had been killed, the bones they left numbered in the hundreds.
The man swept his sleeve, and a wave of suction pulled all the bones into his Universe Bag.
This man was none other than Chu Feng.
What he had just hunted were Spirit Beasts, and what he had collected into his Universe Bag were Spirit Beast Bones.
It had been half a day since Chu Feng first set foot in this hunting ground.
The beasts he had just slain were the last remaining Spirit Beasts in this area.
In that half-day, Chu Feng had killed nearly ten thousand Spirit Beasts and harvested over a hundred thousand Spirit Beast Bones.
"Who would've thought that clearing out this one area alone would take me a full half-day."
Though the harvest was considerable, Chu Feng was not entirely satisfied. He genuinely hadn't expected that even after locking down this region, the hunt would still take this long.
After all, once he had sealed off the area, hunting the Spirit Beasts should have been as easy as catching turtles in a jar.
But unfortunately, even though these Spirit Beasts were conjured by a formation, their intelligence was far higher than Chu Feng had anticipated.
They only displayed aggression when facing opponents weaker than themselves.
When they sensed someone stronger, they would flee immediately.
Most importantly, they could detect danger. Even when Chu Feng deliberately concealed his aura, they would still spot him once he got close enough — and bolt without hesitation.
So in essence, Chu Feng had spent half a day playing a game of cat and mouse with these Spirit Beasts.
Still, he had finally corralled every last one.
"In this Queen's opinion, your haul from this half-day is quite impressive. The question is whether the Spirit Beast Bones you've gathered will be enough to claim first place," the Queen said.
Based on what they had observed along the way, the density of Spirit Beasts in this area was dozens of times greater than anywhere else.
Chu Feng had wiped out every Spirit Beast here — an enormous harvest by any measure.
Others wouldn't even dare dream of such a bounty.
But even so, the Queen wasn't certain whether Spirit Beast Bones from this area alone would be enough for Chu Feng to take first place in the hunt.
After all, they had come straight here from the entrance and hadn't fully explored the entire hunting ground.
They had no way of knowing whether other parts of the grounds held even denser concentrations of Spirit Beasts.
"Only half the day has passed. I can always keep hunting."
With that, Chu Feng turned and headed back the way he had come.
His goal was clear — he wanted first place in this hunting competition. So even though his harvest was already substantial, he wasn't about to slack off.
Before long, Chu Feng arrived at the area where he had set up his concealing formation.
From the outside, no one could see Chu Feng at all. They would have assumed the formation marked the boundary of the hunting ground.
But from within, Chu Feng could see everything outside with perfect clarity.
"Wait — aren't those juniors of the Chu Heavenly Clan? What are they doing?" Chu Feng suddenly stopped.
He spotted ten juniors of the Chu Heavenly Clan — eight young men and two young women.
And around them, several hundred people were gathered.
Every last one of those people was kneeling on the ground, pulling Spirit Beast Bones from their Universe Bags and handing them over to the Chu Heavenly Clan juniors.
"Don't tell me… they're robbing people?" Even the Queen was taken aback.
She had long known the Chu Heavenly Clan juniors were no good, but she hadn't expected them to stoop this low.
They had descended to the level of outright robbery, stealing the spoils others had fought for.
"Must be. They're definitely robbing them. But doesn't that violate the rules of the hunt?" Chu Feng fell into thought.
He recalled that the hunt had no rule permitting the seizure of others' spoils.
