Chapter 2653 — The Evil Ginseng King (1)

"Heh heh heh…"

That eerie laughter rose from the depths of the earth, echoing across the vast expanse of the sky, ceaseless and unending.

It was strange, terrifying, and utterly skin-crawling — enough to unsettle anyone's mind.

At that moment, the crowd in the sky was in complete disarray, scattering like ants on a hot pan.

Panic had seized them all. Every one of them feared being killed by that sealed monstrosity, scrambling desperately to find somewhere safe. Some of the bolder ones even fled toward the elder of the Chu Heavenly Clan.

Most people had been frightened into a state of total bewilderment.

Only Chu Feng, Wang Qiang, and their group kept their eyes fixed on the ground below without looking away.

No — in fact, it wasn't just Chu Feng's party. There was also that elder of the Chu Heavenly Clan, Chu Bonuo.

Chu Bonuo was watching with extraordinary focus. He didn't even spare a glance at the people from the Hundred Refinements Ordinary Realm who had scurried to his side for protection.

Yet while Chu Feng and the others wore expressions of unease, Chu Bonuo's face was actually brimming with excitement.

Whoosh—

Suddenly, a streak of golden light shot up from deep underground.

At the same time, a figure flew out from the depths and landed on the earth below.

Through the rolling clouds of smoke, people could clearly make out its form.

At first, their hearts clenched — after all, their instinct told them this had to be… the sealed entity.

But once they got a clear look at it, confusion set in, because this sealed being was nothing at all like what they had imagined.

In their minds, the creature should have been some grotesque, horrifying colossus.

Yet what now appeared before their eyes was a tiny doll-like figure, no more than three feet tall.

That was right — it bore a rough resemblance to a human child, but it was clearly not human.

Its body was yellow, giving off a faint golden glow.

Although it had a human head, a human neck, and a human torso, it had neither human hands nor human legs.

In place of legs, there were over a dozen tentacles sprouting from the lower half of its body, supporting it like fleshy stalks. They resembled flower vines in shape, but they were clearly made of flesh.

In place of arms, a single tentacle hung from each shoulder — arm-like, but without any hands.

As for its face, it had six eyes, though each one was tiny, roughly half the size of an ordinary human's eye.

Its ears were normal, only slightly pointed. It had no visible nose, but it did possess an enormous mouth — wide as a hippopotamus's, practically.

That mouth was filled with razor-sharp teeth.

The reason Chu Feng could see all of this so clearly was that the creature's massive mouth was wide open at that very moment.

It was laughing heartily, seemingly overjoyed at its liberation — yet the sound of its laughter was deeply unsettling.

But rather than dwelling on its bizarre appearance, Chu Feng was probing its aura. The problem was… he sensed nothing at all.

He couldn't detect its cultivation level or any sign of power. Had the creature not been standing there in plain sight, Chu Feng might not have even known it existed.

Because it simply had no aura whatsoever.

"It's it — it really is it! I succeeded! I succeeded! Hahahaha!!!"

At that moment, Chu Bonuo suddenly erupted into laughter of wild excitement.

Turning toward the sound, Chu Feng noticed that Chu Bonuo was holding a scroll — a very ancient one.

"What is that?"

Chu Feng activated his Heavenly Eyes and read the contents of the scroll. It bore an illustration.

The figure depicted in that illustration was none other than the strange creature standing below them.

Alongside the drawing were several lines of text.

The Evil Ginseng King, sealed within the Hundred Refinements Ordinary Realm. Release it, allow it to mature, then consume its flesh and blood to achieve eternal youth and extend one's lifespan by ten thousand years.

The rest of the text went into detail about the exact location where the Evil Ginseng King had been sealed, as well as the specific formation array required to break the seal.

"So that's it — he unsealed this thing in order to extend his own lifespan?"

In that instant, Chu Feng not only learned that the terrifying sealed entity was called the Evil Ginseng King — he also understood the true intentions of this elder of the Chu Heavenly Clan.
