The sudden turn of events left everyone from the Red Butterfly Association at a loss.
Only Chu Feng had kept his eyes open throughout, witnessing everything as it unfolded. The entire shift had been caused by the appearance of an elderly man.
He was an elder whose body radiated extraordinary phenomena.
Mystical light swirled around him, his presence was overwhelming, and his cultivation was unfathomably deep. Without a doubt, he surpassed every person present.
Faced with this elder, let alone anyone else, even the seemingly fearless Chu Luyang wore an expression of pure humility.
Everything before them made it clear that this elder was no ordinary figure.
And beside him walked a beautiful woman.
The moment Chu Feng laid eyes on her, his gaze brightened — because that woman was none other than Xu Yiyi.
"It's actually her?" Chu Feng was genuinely surprised to see Xu Yiyi. He knew she was from Falling Cloud Valley, but he hadn't expected her to show up here.
So now, Chu Feng had a feeling this was no mere coincidence. At the very least, the elder hadn't told Lu Yang Pavilion to stand down without reason.
"Chu Feng, it's been a while," Xu Yiyi said with a smile, her attitude perfectly friendly — as though two old friends had reunited after a long separation.
"Young friend Chu Feng, you know her?" Every member of the Red Butterfly Association turned to look at Chu Feng in astonishment.
Their stares were a mixture of shock and hope. They were vaguely beginning to realize that the reason they were still alive might have everything to do with that young woman.
"Has it really been that long?" Chu Feng replied with a faint smile. Those words sent a surge of joy through everyone in the Red Butterfly Association.
They had guessed correctly — Chu Feng did know this woman. And judging by her bearing, she was far from ordinary. Perhaps they could survive this day after all.
"To me, it feels like forever," Xu Yiyi said with a gentle smile.
"What are you doing here?" Chu Feng asked.
"I came to watch the show, but at this point, you should be thanking me," Xu Yiyi said.
"Thanking her?" The moment those words left her mouth, everyone froze.
"Master, it's time for you to speak," Xu Yiyi said, tugging playfully on Elder Zhao's arm.
"Relax." Elder Zhao smiled faintly, then turned toward the Red Butterfly Association and asked, "Who leads the Red Butterfly Association?"
"Your subordinate Liu Xiaoli, President of the Red Butterfly Association," Liu Xiaoli replied, stepping forward several paces and offering a deep, respectful bow.
It wasn't that Liu Xiaoli was timid or easily frightened — it was simply that before someone of this caliber, she dared not be careless. Moreover, she sensed that this elder might be the one who could save the Red Butterfly Association today.
"Pavilion Master of Lu Yang Pavilion, President of the Red Butterfly Association — hear me well."
"From this day forward, Lu Yang Pavilion and the Red Butterfly Association are to coexist in peace. Neither side is to encroach upon the other."
"If either side dares defy this order, Falling Cloud Valley will personally obliterate them," Xu Yiyi's Master declared.
"Elder Su, you… you…" Chu Luyang was so stunned he could barely form words.
Falling Cloud Valley had come here to help Lu Yang Pavilion destroy the Red Butterfly Association. How had things done a complete about-face?
"What, do you have objections to my decree?" Xu Yiyi's Master cast a displeased gaze in his direction.
The moment Chu Luyang met that stare, his heart lurched. In the end, despite every ounce of unwillingness, he could only lower his head in submission and say with utmost respect: "Luyang wouldn't dare."
"Then see that you carry it out. Should I learn that Lu Yang Pavilion has made any move against the Red Butterfly Association, I will ensure that Lu Yang Pavilion ceases to exist."
"The Red Butterfly Association is subject to the same terms. Is that understood?" Xu Yiyi's Master said.
Having delivered her ultimatum, Xu Yiyi's Master turned and stepped into the war chariot, preparing to depart.
