"Who exactly is that person?" Chu Feng's gaze grew complicated.

Though he didn't know who that old monk was, Chu Feng heeded his advice and tried his best to settle his grief-stricken and indignant heart.

Chu Feng needed to comprehend the martial cultivation path and break through the bottleneck to Rank Two Half-Ancestor as quickly as possible. Once he became a Rank Two Half-Ancestor, he would be able to deal with the Tang and Cao families. Even if he encountered Elder Yuan Zhen again, Chu Feng would have nothing to fear.

However, there was one thing Chu Feng did not heed the old monk's advice on — he did not leave the Dark Night Ghost Forest.

Wang Qiang had died at that demoness's hands, and Chu Feng absolutely could not let the matter rest. He couldn't even wait — he was desperate to kill that demoness, or the hatred in his heart would never be quelled.

And so, Chu Feng had set up layer upon layer of barriers at the place where the demoness resided. The moment she returned, Chu Feng would detect her and track her down.

He was going to lie in wait.

However, while Chu Feng remained hidden in the Dark Night Ghost Forest, cultivating as he waited for the demoness, the Luyang Pavilion had long since learned of what had happened within the Tang family.

In one of the sleeping chambers within the Luyang Pavilion, Elder Yuan Zhen knelt on the ground, facing a massive bed.

The bed was at least a hundred times the size of an ordinary one, perfectly square, and its four sides were draped with a special gauze curtain.

With that gauze in place, even using barrier techniques, it was nearly impossible to see clearly through to what lay inside.

Though one couldn't see clearly, with the naked eye one could still make out a vague impression — dozens of completely unclothed women serving a single person within the bed. That person was none other than the Master of the Luyang Pavilion.

"So what if they're dead? Taking three direct disciples was nothing more than a passing whim to begin with."

"But that one called Chu Feng — I will absolutely not let him go. I want the whole world to know that not even a dog I, Chu Luyang, keep is to be killed by just anyone." The voice of the Luyang Pavilion Master, Chu Luyang, drifted out from within the bed.

"But, Lord Pavilion Master, since this Chu Feng bears the surname Chu, could he possibly be a member of your Chu Heavenly Clan?" Elder Yuan Zhen asked.

"Chu Feng… I don't recall anyone by that name in our Chu Heavenly Clan." After saying this, Chu Luyang suddenly changed his tone. "Wait — there may have been one."

"There was someone called Chu Feng?" Upon hearing this, Elder Yuan Zhen's expression changed dramatically. In that instant, he was drenched in sweat, his face pale with terror, utterly beside himself with dread.

A member of the Chu Heavenly Clan — a small fry like himself could never afford to offend such people. If Chu Feng truly belonged to the Chu Heavenly Clan, he feared that even his own Pavilion Master might not be able to protect him.

"There was indeed someone by that name, but he's long dead. And even if he were still alive, it wouldn't matter — he was a waste who didn't possess a Heavenly bloodline."

"Hahahaha…" Chu Luyang suddenly burst into wild laughter. "You mentioning it nearly made me forget. That father and son pair — they were the biggest joke in our entire Chu Heavenly Clan. Hahahaha."

Chu Luyang laughed as though he had genuinely recalled the most hilarious joke in the world.

But his laughter left Yuan Zhen completely bewildered. He had no idea why a single person could amuse Chu Luyang to such an extent.

"Lord Pavilion Master, even if that Chu Feng is not from the Chu Heavenly Clan, he must surely belong to some other Heavenly Clan."

"Now that he's escaped, I fear this could lead to consequences down the road," Elder Yuan Zhen said worriedly.

"Yuan Zhen, after all the time I've spent grooming you, can you really not understand something this simple?" Chu Luyang asked.

"Forgive this subordinate's foolishness," Elder Yuan Zhen said, bowing his head.

"Let me ask you — if you were a member of the Chu Heavenly Clan and ran into trouble, would you invoke the clan's name?"

"And even if you weren't from the Chu Heavenly Clan but from some other Heavenly Clan, wouldn't you still bring up your family's name when you faced trouble?" Chu Luyang continued.

"Lord Pavilion Master sees clearly. This subordinate would indeed," Yuan Zhen admitted with a nod.

"It's not just you — anyone in their right mind would. But did this one called Chu Feng ever mention his family?" Chu Luyang asked.

"He did not," Elder Yuan Zhen confirmed.

"Then why do you think he chose not to mention his family?" Chu Luyang pressed.

"Could it be that even if he did mention his family, they wouldn't come to his aid?" Yuan Zhen ventured.

"Of course. If his family were willing to shelter him, how could he possibly have failed to invoke their name?"
