"A Secret Weapon? You little rascal, you actually know about those things now. It seems you've gained quite a bit while I was away." Egg Egg chuckled, then continued: "I can't say for certain what exactly is sealed in there, but whatever is sealed inside this Asura Ghost Tower is definitely a treasure, and a Secret Weapon isn't out of the question either."
"But no matter what it is, we'll find out once we go in. Follow my orders and set up the Opening Formation — let's check out that seventh level!"
"Understood!"
Under Egg Egg's direction, Chu Feng began setting up the Opening Formation. As its name implied, the Opening Formation was used to unlock various seals or hidden barriers.
"This barrier is truly impressive. Anyone but you would be hopeless — even a Blue-Robed Spirit World Master couldn't open this barrier. They probably couldn't even detect it," Egg Egg said smugly while directing Chu Feng.
"Egg Egg, then will we be able to open it successfully?" Upon hearing that even a Blue-Robed Spirit World Master couldn't manage it, Chu Feng's confidence wavered.
"You, of course you can. Don't forget this is the Asura Ghost Tower — all of its power comes from the
"The Asura Spirit World?" Chu Feng was both shocked and confused.
"You fool. Did you really think the Spirit World was just a single world? In truth, the Spirit World is divided into seven worlds, known as the Seven Spirit Worlds."
"Each of the Seven Spirit Worlds is home to different kinds of Spirit World beings, each possessing different abilities. And to put it bluntly, my Asura Spirit World is the strongest among them all."
"Because we Asura Spirit World beings are naturally proud, we disdain forming contracts with humans to serve Spirit World Masters. That's why Spirit World Masters who have managed to form contracts with Asura Spirit beings are incredibly rare — practically nonexistent."
"However, any Spirit World Master who does form a contract with an Asura Spirit being will undoubtedly be far superior to others of the same Rank. Not for any other reason, but because the power they wield is the power of the Asura, and their Spirit World being is an Asura Spirit being." Egg Egg spoke with unmistakable pride.
"In that case, haven't I been incredibly lucky!" Chu Feng grinned.
"Hmph, you have no idea. Do you know how many powerful Spirit World Masters would consider it an honor and a privilege to form a contract with an Asura Spirit being?"
"And yet even so, those who manage to form such a contract are still incredibly rare. If those Spirit World Masters who have cultivated for years found out that some little brat like you had formed a contract with me, they'd be so jealous they'd tear you apart." Egg Egg pouted her small mouth.
"So forming a contract with you is actually quite dangerous then. I'll need to keep it a secret." Chu Feng sighed.
"Of course! Back in the day, every Spirit World Master who wanted to form a contract with me was a figure of great renown — and I rejected every single one of them."
"If they found out that I had formed a contract with a runt like you, they'd be furious beyond belief and would come to kill you immediately."
"But don't worry — as long as you can help me recover my strength quickly, then no one will be able to touch you." Egg Egg patted her chest in assurance.
"Actually, what I wanted to say is, since forming a contract with an Asura Spirit World being is so difficult, the person who built this Asura Ghost Tower must be truly extraordinary." Chu Feng glanced around, lost in thought.
"He was extraordinary, but how could he compare to your family? They actually sealed two Asura Spirit beings inside a little brat's body — even I couldn't escape." At this, Egg Egg's face was filled with resentment, but one could tell from her words that Chu Feng's family was truly extraordinary.
"Buzz!" Just as the two of them were chatting, the Opening Formation below suddenly surged with a pillar of light that shot toward the top of the Asura Ghost Tower, and a barrier entrance appeared within it.
"Ha ha, it worked! Chu Feng, get in there quickly — let me see what's inside!" Egg Egg shouted excitedly, but Chu Feng had already moved. His figure leaped forward and plunged into the barrier.
"What's going on? Why is the top of the Atsura Ghost Tower suddenly glowing with such brilliant light?"
Outside the Asura Ghost Tower, the crowd had erupted into an uproar. Everyone could see that the tower's peak was radiating a dazzling red glow, illuminating the surrounding land as bright as day.
"This phenomenon — the same thing happened a hundred years ago!" Elder Li of the Spirit World Association exclaimed in astonishment.
He had once heard an elder tell the story: a hundred years ago, not long after the two supreme geniuses of the Spirit World Association and the Clan of Spirits had been defeated, the Asura Ghost Tower had undergone a sudden change. That change was remarkably similar to what they were witnessing now — virtually identical.
"Look! The blue light on the sixth level has vanished — could the Asura Ghost Tower really be undergoing some kind of change?" someone suddenly cried out.
At that moment, everyone was burning with curiosity, yet there was nothing they could do. The sixth level was beyond the reach of anyone present; all they could do was wait — wait for Chu Feng to come out and learn the truth.
While chaos reigned outside, Chu Feng had already successfully entered the seventh level. This place was entirely different from the previous six. The walls on all sides were translucent barriers, covered with strange runic patterns. Each barrier gave Chu Feng the impression of being utterly indestructible — impossible for him to even budge.
The barriers formed a path that guided Chu Feng forward. However, before long, he reached the end of the path. At the terminus was another barrier, though this one was clearly far more powerful and strangely shaped, resembling a cage.
"Aaahhhh~~~" Suddenly, an ear-splitting shriek rang out. The sound was so bizarre that Chu Feng involuntarily stumbled back several steps.
At the same moment, he could see a figure arrive before the barrier like a bolt of lightning. Upon spotting Chu Feng, the figure began waving its arms and jumping up and down with excitement, shouting: "Wonderful, wonderful! A full hundred years, and someone has finally come!"
Chu Feng stared in astonishment, for the being before him had a truly peculiar appearance. Its ears were pointed, like those of some animal; its eyeballs were a deep crimson red; and its mouth was full of sharp, fangs — all rather frightening.
From its form, it appeared to be human, yet its face looked more like that of a monster. But the reason Chu Feng was so shocked wasn't because of its appearance.
Because wasn't this exactly what the mysterious person looked like — the one who had defeated the two supreme geniuses of the Spirit World Association and the Clan of Spirits a hundred years ago?
