"Thank you so much, truly, thank you so much, I..." Hearing this, Bai Ruochen was so overcome with emotion that she could barely string her words together.
Even Bai Suyan was moved to tears once more. Though she was crying, a joyful smile hung on her face.
"Don't thank me. If you must thank someone, thank young friend Chu Feng — he's the one who provided this formation."
"Besides, I've only grasped the method behind it, but I haven't fully mastered it yet. Even if we were to set it up, we'd likely still need young friend Chu Feng's help." Immortal Compass spoke with a warm smile.
"Chu Feng." Bai Ruochen turned to Chu Feng, not knowing what to say, but her shimmering eyes brimmed with gratitude.
"Senior Compass, I have some of the materials on hand, but they're still not enough. I'd appreciate it if you could help me out."
As he spoke, Chu Feng produced all the materials required by the formation that he happened to possess. Every single one of them was a rare treasure — obtained from Immortal White-Brow after Chu Feng had killed him.
In truth, the contents of Immortal White-Brow's Universe Bag had been remarkably complete when it came to items needed for barrier arts. Nearly everything one could imagine was in there.
Yet setting up this particular formation still required quite a few materials that were missing.
"This formation is complex, and the materials it demands are even more so. I can't guarantee I have them all, but I can pool what I have together with young friend Chu Feng."
Because the formation required so many items, Immortal Compass himself wasn't certain whether his Universe Bag contained everything, so the two of them had to search through their supplies one by one.
And indeed, the rare natural treasures Immortal Compass had collected were far more numerous than those of Immortal White-Brow. Chu Feng had produced roughly a third of the materials, while Immortal Compass had contributed close to two-thirds.
Even so, there was still one material missing.
"This is bad. Of all things to be short on, it had to be the hardest one to obtain." Immortal Compass gave a somewhat awkward smile.
"The Thousand-Leaf Sparrow Tail Flower — what is that? Is it hard to find?" Bai Ruochen asked.
"The Thousand-Leaf Sparrow Tail Flower itself isn't hard to find. The problem is obtaining it. Throughout the entire Holy Land of Martiality, there is only one place that has the Thousand-Leaf Sparrow Tail Flower, and that is the Elven Kingdom," Immortal Compass said.
"The Elven Kingdom." At the sound of that name, Chu Feng, Bai Ruochen, and the others all felt their hearts stir.
"That's right — the very place where the most powerful force in the Holy Land of Martiality is entrenched."
"The Elven Kingdom, as the undisputed overlord of the Holy Land of Martiality, may not oppress humanity or demon beasts, but pride is their defining trait. In their world, even members of the same race are divided into multiple tiers."

"And that, in turn, makes it incredibly difficult to obtain anything from there." Immortal Compass shook his head as he finished speaking.
