"Chu Feng, tell me — will you become my disciple, or that stinky monk's disciple?" The Snow-Haired Immortal demanded an answer.
"Chu Feng, Snow-Hair may carry the title of Immortal, but in truth she's a demoness. If you become her disciple, she'll torture you to death sooner or later." Before Chu Feng could respond, the Compass Immortal interjected first.
"Insolent monk! You stole my belongings, tried to steal my disciple, and now you even dare to slander me?" The Snow-Haired Immortal's face went pale with rage, her eyes practically burning with hatred.
Yet despite all that, she did not make a move against the Compass Immortal. Likewise, the Compass Immortal held back against the Snow-Haired Immortal.
Both understood that no matter what grudges lay between them, they had no choice but to join forces for Chu Feng's sake. Right now, their only enemies were the Four Great Imperial Clans.
"Snow-Hair, enough arguing. Our top priority is to get Chu Feng out of here. Do you have a plan?" The Compass Immortal transmitted his voice secretly.
"That's simple enough. I'll hold those four old fossils in place while you find a chance to take Chu Feng and the others away. But remember this — Chu Feng is my disciple," the Snow-Haired Immortal replied.
"That's a solid plan, but the power of those Imperial Dragon Seals keeps growing. Can you handle it?" the Compass Immortal asked.
"Don't worry. I'll leave here safely, then go and butcher that stinky monk of yours to reclaim my disciple." As those words left her lips, her snow-white hair erupted into a wild frenzy once more. The ancient Emperor Armament, which had already been dimming, suddenly blazed with silver radiance so intense it completely outshone the golden glow of the four golden dragons.
*Tap, tap, tap—* Seizing the opening, the Compass Immortal took step after rapid step, each one impossibly profound in its movement. Leveraging that mystical footwork and the Snow-Haired Immortal's cover, he successfully transferred Chu Feng and the others onto his own person, then broke straight through the four elders' encirclement and soared off into the distance.
"That's bad — that Compass fellow has taken Chu Feng and is escaping!" The four great elders spotted what was happening and spun around to give chase.
"Four shameless old fossils — none of you are going anywhere!" But the Snow-Haired Immortal had no intention of letting them pursue. The ancient Emperor Armament blazed with overwhelming power, and not a single one of the four elders could break free.
The Compass Immortal charged forward like an unstoppable force, and no one dared stand in his way. Though he hadn't gone on the killing spree the Snow-Haired Immortal had, after wounding several thousand people, nobody else had the courage to approach him.
*BOOM—* A thunderous explosion rang out. The Compass Immortal had shattered the invisible barrier the Four Great Imperial Clans had established.
"Damned Snow-Hair! I'll tear you to pieces!" Watching the Compass Immortal about to escape with Chu Feng, the four elders flew into a frenzy and unleashed everything they had at the Snow-Haired Immortal, determined to eliminate her.
"There's no need to panic, gentlemen. That Compass fellow won't escape, and neither will Chu Feng. None of them are getting away today."
But at that very moment, two streaks of light hurtled toward the Compass Immortal from the front — two white-haired, ancient elders.
Despite their advanced age, their auras were terrifyingly powerful. Both were fourth-grade Martial Emperors.
Upon reaching the Compass Immortal, these two elders wasted no words. They drew their half-finished Emperor Armaments and launched their attacks, every strike aimed to kill.
"The Grand Elders of my Nangong Imperial Clan and the Ximen Imperial Clan!" Nangong Beidou recognized the two elders immediately.
"What are you two doing here? Weren't you supposed to be guarding the clans?" The four Grand Elders currently engaged in battle were surprised, though far more delighted. If these two hadn't arrived as reinforcements, Chu Feng would truly have been carried off by the Compass Immortal.
"We were worried, so we came to check — and sure enough, we came at just the right time." These two Grand Elders had only just arrived, but being the shrewd veterans they were, they had already assessed the situation. The Compass Immortal was their enemy, and that meant they needed to act accordingly.
"Ha ha ha! Wonderful — I've been wanting to test myself against the Grand Elders of the Nangong and Ximen Imperial Clans. Fighting two at once today — what a fortunate day indeed!" The Compass Immortal threw his head back and roared with laughter. His attacks surged forth in sweeping, brilliant arcs, and despite facing two opponents simultaneously, he refused to yield an inch of ground.
