"Thank you for your kindness,
The people of the Immortal Island were all rather proud, but this elder who had been assigned to look after him was different. Not only had he treated Chu Feng well, but he had also gone out of his way to think on his behalf — that was truly rare.
Chu Feng ate quickly. In a short while, he had polished off the entire dinner. His appetite was enormous — he had genuinely finished every last dish on the table, not merely eaten his fill.
It wasn't that Chu Feng ate sloppily; he simply didn't want this kind-hearted elder to keep waiting around for him.
Once Chu Feng had finished his meal, the kind elder led him on a winding path through a series of turns until they finally arrived at the place where the Cultivation Immortal Lake was located.
The Cultivation Immortal Lake wasn't particularly large. Unlike the other lakes of the Martial Sacred Land — which, despite being called lakes, were so vast they were practically oceans, with towering waves on the surface and bottomless depths hiding all manner of Fierce Beasts — this lake's size was comparable to those of the
Unfortunately, aside from the lake's dimensions, Chu Feng couldn't make out much else. A layer of white mist drifted across the surface, concealing the true face of the Cultivation Immortal Lake. Not only could the naked eye not penetrate it, but even Mental Power couldn't sense through it — because this was no ordinary fog. It was a barrier, one set up by a Dragon-veined Imperial Robe Spirit World Master. This was the handiwork of the Weapon Forging Immortal.
"Young friend Chu Feng, when the time comes, the seal will release automatically. That's when you can enter and begin your cultivation," the kind elder reminded him.
"Thank you for your trouble, Senior," Chu Feng said gratefully.
"No need for thanks. I'm merely following Lord Weapon Forging's orders. He told me to look after young friend Chu Feng properly, so naturally I wouldn't dare slack off." With those words, the elder departed.
Now Chu Feng finally understood why this elder, who had no relation to him whatsoever, had been so exceptionally kind — it was all on the Weapon Forging Immortal's account.
After the elder left, Chu Feng sat down. He was the first to arrive, so once the elder was gone, not a single other person was around.
Chu Feng relaxed on the grassy lawn, perfectly still. The only sound was the gentle breeze sweeping across the grass. Everything felt so natural, so peaceful, and Chu Feng felt himself unwind completely.
"Chu Feng." Suddenly, a pleasant voice rang out. Chu Feng hadn't heard any footsteps, but someone had already arrived.
He turned to look. It was Dantai Xue. She was walking toward him. She hadn't come alone, but the elder who had guided her had already left after bringing her here.
"Sit." Chu Feng patted the grass beside him, signaling for Dantai Xue to sit and chat.
Dantai Xue, however, didn't sit down. She stood beside Chu Feng and asked, "Have you met the Weapon Forging Immortal? Did he say what kind of weapon he'd forge for you?"
"I have. He said he'd craft a weapon tailored specifically for me, but he didn't mention what kind." Chu Feng asked, "What about you?"
"Same here. He also said he'd make something custom for me, but didn't specify what it would be or what it could do," Dantai Xue replied.
"Knowing the Weapon Forging Immortal's abilities, do you think he could actually forge a genuine half-finished Emperor Weapon for us?" Chu Feng asked.
"Any other Dragon-veined Spirit World Master probably couldn't manage half-finished Emperor Weapons for all five of us, but the Weapon Forging Immortal should be able to. After all, he's universally recognized as the foremost weaponsmith of the Martial Sacred Land," Dantai Xue said.
"What kind of weapon do you want?" Chu Feng asked.
"I'm not sure. But I don't particularly want an offensive weapon — I already have the Rune Soul-Capturing Flute. If I could get something with defensive capabilities, I think that would be better," Dantai Xue said.
"So you want a defensive weapon," Chu Feng said with a smile.
