"You've had a run-in with the King Beast of the Demon Flood Dragons?" After hearing Chu Feng's words, Tantai Xue's gaze filled with concern.
"No. I've encountered regular Demon Flood Dragons before. Their strength was quite formidable, but I heard the King Beast version is even stronger. That's why I wanted to see one for myself," Chu Feng replied.
"That's good. You'd better not provoke the King Beast of the Demon Flood Dragons — they're not easy to deal with." Tantai Xue let out a sigh of relief.
"Don't worry. I'm not going to go out of my way to provoke them. It's not like I have that much free time." Chu Feng said with a grin.
"Oh, right — there's some important news. Su Rou and Zi Ling have already arrived. I haven't actually seen them myself, but people who got here earlier said two incredibly beautiful women showed up. From the way they described the looks, I'm certain it's Su Rou and Zi Ling," Tantai Xue said.
"I see. So that means they've already headed for the Immortal Island first?" Chu Feng asked.
"Mm, they've gone over already. No word on whether things went smoothly, though. Also, the Nangong Imperial Clan and the Beitang Imperial Clan have jointly organized an advance team to scout the way. They should be back before too long," Tantai Xue said.
"Sounds like setting foot on this Immortal Island isn't going to be easy," Chu Feng said with a bitter smile. Even though he'd known from the start that the Bestowal of Armaments tournament would involve trials, the challenges here were even harder than he'd imagined.
"Any other intel, Miss Tantai?" Chu Feng asked again.
"There is. There's a stone platform on this island, but it seems to serve no purpose. I don't know if it holds some special significance — why don't you go take a look?" Tantai Xue said.
"Sure, take me there." Chu Feng nodded.
"Oh, Chu Feng, there's one more thing." Tantai Xue suddenly spoke up.
"What is it?" Chu Feng asked.
"Why don't you just call me by my name directly?" Tantai Xue said.
"Call you by your name? Sure. How about 'Little Xue'?" Chu Feng said with a grin.
Tantai Xue's slender brows furrowed slightly, a hint of displeasure flickering across her face, but she said nothing.
"Don't like that? What about 'Xue'er'?" Chu Feng asked again.
"Do whatever you want. Just stop calling me 'Miss Tantai, Miss Tantai.' We're the same generation — it feels weird when you address me like that." Tantai Xue finished speaking and started walking off ahead of her.
Following Tantai Xue, Chu Feng quickly came upon a group of people. They were young — men and women alike, all strikingly beautiful. But to be precise, they weren't human. Each of them had a sharp, pointed horn protruding from their forehead, reminiscent of a rhinoceros but far sharper. Those horns pulsed with tremendous power, and even their auras were distinctly different, exuding a palpable demonic energy.
These, it seemed, were the King Beasts of the Demon Flood Dragons. And they were anything but weak. Every single one of them was at the Half-Emperor realm, with the strongest among them being a third-grade Half-Emperor.
The King Beasts of the Demon Flood Dragons didn't appear to be much for conversation. Upon seeing Chu Feng and Tantai Xue pass by, they merely cast a cold glance — no hostility, but no friendliness either. As if their gazes were saying: Regardless of where you come from, you'd best not mess with us, because we are absolutely not to be trifled with.
Chu Feng found these King Beast Demon Flood Dragons rather interesting. Not because of their personalities, though — they were clearly monster beasts, yet they had transformed themselves into human form. And regardless of gender, each one had taken on such beautiful features, as though they were yearning to become the most handsome and beautiful among humanity.
"Here it is." Tantai Xue finally came to a stop and pointed toward a stone platform.
The platform was rectangular, no more than three meters tall, ten meters long, and five meters wide, built atop a grassy lawn.
The material was somewhat unusual — not ordinary stone. It was a type of diamond, a variety of black diamond, widely regarded as the hardest among all diamonds.
"I keep wondering — why build a stone platform here for no apparent reason? What's the point?" Tantai Xue said, puzzled.
