"I do feel a bit irritable, but not extremely so..." Klein, wearing a triple crown, deep blue robe, and holding the "Sea God Scepter," carefully examined his own condition.
This meant that the "Tyrant" card could indeed suppress the negative effects of the "Sea God Scepter" to a certain extent, but not completely erase them.
Klein calmed his emotions through meditation and then shifted his gaze to the pile of miscellaneous items in the corner.
"*Groselle's Travels*? This is my strongest defensive item right now, and it has some wonderful uses. But the problem is that it was created by another Ancient God, the 'Imaginary Dragon' Ankervild. According to little 'Sun', this Dragon King was once in the same camp as the master of Calderón, the ancient Death, the Primordial Phoenix Gragari. No one knows if this 'Travels' will trigger unnecessary changes... Better be careful and leave it behind.
"Similar to Azik's copper whistle, I can't contain that mutated paper figurine either. It has the residual aura of artificial Death... This might serve as a deterrent when exploring Calderón, but it also harbors a huge hidden danger.
"The Beyonder characteristic of the 'Light Priest'? It can effectively restrain the undead and is the natural enemy of the residents of the 'City of the Dead'. But it's just a material, not yet made into a mystical item. Its effectiveness is quite limited, while its negative effects are extremely severe, which is very unfriendly to me in my soul-body state. Besides, lightning can also 'purify' the dead. Since I have the 'Sea God Scepter' and 'Sea' Calling', there's no need to bring the 'Light Priest' characteristic..." Thoughts flashed through Klein's mind one after another as he ruled out the remaining items in the pile.
Holding the "Sea God Scepter" in his left hand, which was wearing a human-skin glove, he gently raised his right hand, making the "Sea' Calling" staff actively fly up and land in his palm.
Immediately after, Klein, dressed as the Pope, changed the appearance of his soul body, hiding his features in the shadow of the triple crown.
He slowly stood up. His deep blue robe swayed lightly in the wind, and the bone scepter was dazzling.
With a single step, the "Tyrant" Klein passed through the "Summoning Gate," stepping out from a candle flame into the real world, finding himself inside a relatively spacious bathroom.
After storing the "Luck Stealer" charm and the "Lament" revolver within his body, he opened the door and returned to the living room. He manipulated "Winner" Enzo over to take over the black staff "Sea' Calling". Thinking about it, Klein then withdrew the "Lament" revolver and handed it to "Hell Admiral" Ludwell.
Having done all this, he took his two marionettes and, relying on the Beyonder ability "Travel," headed straight for the Spirit World coordinate provided by Miss Magician.
The journey was relatively smooth. The aura of the "Tyrant" prevented the bizarre Spirit World creatures along the way from daring to approach or even look directly at him. Before long, Klein reached his destination.
The scene before him was essentially no different from other parts of the Spirit World. Vivid, rich blocks of color overlapped, a faint mist pervaded some areas, and in the various secluded depths, pairs of eyes looked away one after another.
As the cloak attached to the Papal robe swayed slightly, Klein made a quick assessment and then directed "Winner" Enzo and "Hell Admiral" Ludwell into a patch of mist that seemed very thin and ordinary.
Suddenly, the field of vision he obtained through his two marionettes expanded drastically, reflecting a magnificent city that could only appear in myths and legends.
This city was unlike normal ones. It did not develop upwards but instead extended in ring after ring towards the bottom of a deep underground chasm, giving an overall feeling of an inverted mausoleum.
The buildings inside had various architectural styles, but they were all equally bizarre. Some were towering pale stone pillars with huge single-room houses carved into their tops. Others were rectangular, with doors on the roofs and not a single window. Some were built underground, with a tombstone erected at the entrance. Others were haphazardly constructed from bones.
The closer to the bottom of the underground chasm, the better preserved the buildings were. The closer to the top, the more collapsed areas there were, filled with a sense of decay and ruin brought by time.
After a brief observation, "Winner" Enzo proactively lowered his head and recited in a low, hoarse voice in Ancient Hermes:
"The Fool that does not belong to this era; "The mysterious ruler above the gray fog; "The King of Yellow and Black who wields good luck..."
As soon as he finished, illusory, overlapping prayers sounded in Klein's ears, who was outside Calderón City. He distinguished that it came from a man whose voice was deliberately hoarse.
"It was the prayer from the marionette just now..." Klein sighed in relief, muttering almost inaudibly to himself. "This means that Calderón City doesn't shield the Gray Fog, or at least the outer layer doesn't. I can go in."
Even as he said this, he was in no rush. Instead, he manipulated "Hell Admiral" Ludwell to raise his left arm and open his palm.
An illusory light suddenly erupted, then collapsed inward around a central point, forming a pair of bronze double doors.
The doors were somewhat blurry and extremely illusory, their surface covered in countless mysterious patterns, giving off an indescribable sense of deathly stillness and profound depth.
With a creak, the mysterious bronze door slid backward, cracking open a gap.
Through this gap, Klein saw the deepest, most profound darkness.
Within the darkness, paleness surged, sometimes rising, sometimes falling, like a river flowing through a lightless night.
On either side of it, enormous pale stone pillars loomed indistinctly, extremely similar to those existing within Calderón City, yet even more exaggerated.
