This would neither expose himself nor leave the hidden danger unresolved. Yet, he chose to leave on a mission instead. There had to be a reason for it—Klein wouldn't believe otherwise.
He initially suspected that informing the Church about Amon would lead to unpredictable, bad outcomes. That was why the Angel of the Marauder pathway inside Leonard had vetoed this plan. It was one of the beings who best understood Amon's various Beyonder powers.
*When you don't know what to do, you should definitely imitate the more experienced... Although the Gray Fog shields us, and if something goes wrong, it would only affect Miss Justice, there's still no need to take the risk. Although he was always arrogant, after many Tarot Club gatherings, he now understood what a King of Angels meant. It meant being second only to the Primogenitor of the Vampires, Lilith, and second only to the True Gods at the pinnacle of the Sequences. It meant being the strongest existence walking the earth, walking the real world!
*What else is going to happen in Backlund? When that happens, there will be dead, injured, or sick people everywhere outside, and the priest will drive me crazy with work again...* Emlyn recalled the period after the Great Smog, and a hint of fear flickered across his face—fear that such a disaster might repeat itself.
"The Magician," Fors, also sensed that the trouble was significant. If "The Angel of Time" Amon really intended to do something, it could cause widespread destruction that she couldn't avoid just by staying cooped up at home without stepping out.
She silently took a breath, looked up to the head of the long bronze table, and asked with a hint of worry:
"Honored 'Mr. Fool', what exactly is Amon trying to achieve by sending a clone to Backlund?"
Klein carefully weighed his words, kept a faint smile, and glanced around the table before saying:
"To look for you."
Look for us? These words struck "The Magician" Fors and the others like bolts of lightning, snapping them to their senses with a shiver running down their spines.
Immediately after, "Justice" Audrey connected this answer with the earlier "Leave Him alone." She felt that "Mr. Fool" was like a boundless ocean, while a mere clone of the "Blasphemer" Amon was just a stone. Once thrown in, it would make a splash and then never have any real effect again.
*Although Amon's clone has come to look for us Tarot Club members, "Mr. Fool" said to leave Him alone, so there's absolutely nothing to worry about... Praise "Mr. Fool"!* Audrey's heart, which had tensed up just a moment ago, relaxed again.
