The mirror on Klein's pillow instantly radiated a flowing, watery luster, and silver specks squirmed together into the corresponding Loen script.
"Supreme and great Master, your loyal and humble servant Arrodes is always waiting to serve you!"
Klein stood by the bed, looking at the mirror, and asked calmly, "Where behind the Chanis Gate of Saint Samuel Cathedral is that Antigonus family notebook?"
He wanted to confirm the location in advance so he could head straight to the target, execute the plan in the shortest time possible, and thus avoid any unexpected incidents.
On the mirror's surface, the silver words twisted and transformed, forming a new line of text.
"It is a Grade 1 Sealed Artefact, in the second layer area to the right. I cannot see any more specifically than that."
Klein hummed in acknowledgment. "It's your turn to ask."
Arrodes immediately dissipated the silver words on the mirror, and new words emerged from the shimmering surface. "Do you have any further instructions?"
Under normal circumstances, Klein would have clicked his tongue in surprise, but his highly-strung nerves only allowed him to nod. "As before, watch my illusion and respond to any accidents."
"Okay, Master!" The "Magic Mirror" Arrodes responded without hesitation, immediately following up with another line of words. "I w-will control my instincts. I swear to you, the great Lord above the spirit world!"
Klein nodded slightly, took two steps forward, and let the mirror reflect the image of Dwayne Dantès.
The image became clearer and clearer, more and more massive, until it almost seemed real.
Making a slight adjustment, Klein had the dummy lie down on the bed, appearing to be asleep.
At that moment, he noticed Dwayne Dantès turn his head, give him a fawning smile, and stretch out both hands to pull the blanket up a little.
"…" Klein didn't say a word. As he transformed into the cold-faced, crazy adventurer Gehrman Sparrow, he simultaneously made the "Creeping Hunger" still on his left palm suddenly turn transparent.
His figure rapidly faded, and he "Traveled" to the other end of Phelps Street, where Saint Samuel Cathedral was located. He then walked to the square where pigeons flocked during the day and concealed himself in a dark corner.
After a while, a group of worshippers who had attended the evening mass came out of the church. Soon after, many servants left the church carrying various sundries, heading towards the trash cans placed in the side alley. A few of them split off to deal with the manure at the carriage stop.
Just at that moment, one of the servants suddenly shivered. He lowered his head and diligently began to clean, moving towards the square as if dutifully tasked with tidying up the area, gradually going further and further away until he reached a place thick with shadows.
When the other servants stopped paying attention to him, a hand suddenly materialized, as if reaching out of the void, and grabbed his shoulder. His figure faded away and disappeared.
Klein directly "Traveled" to a two-bedroom apartment in a cheap tenement in East Borough—he had rented it a few days earlier by changing his appearance and "teleporting" over.
The "Traveler" ability was incredibly convenient; the only problem was that every time he wanted to use it, he needed a pirate to sacrifice their life… Klein relieved his tension with mental complaints as he laid the servant down on the bed and took out a long, thin metal test tube, tossing it to him.
The servant caught it accurately, pulled out the stopper, gulped down the sleeping draught inside, and fell asleep in just a few seconds. The figure of the "Wraith" Seniel, wearing an old tricorn hat and a dark red coat, materialized beside him.
Klein scrutinized the servant on the bed, then his body suddenly softened, appearing to become a blob of slime. However, he didn't collapse into a puddle, merely swaying slightly. He instantly shrank 15 centimeters, his skin tone deepened, his facial features shifted, and soon he had completely transformed into the appearance of that servant.
By this time, Seniel had already stripped the servant completely naked.
Without wasting any time, Klein quickly changed into those clothes and transferred his iron cigarette case and other items.
Picking up the broom, he gave himself a once-over, confirmed there were no problems, and sent Seniel back into the gold coin. He then lowered his left arm, spread his fingers, and watched the "Creeping Hunger" spread that indescribable transparency.
Teleporting back into the shadows at the corner of the square, Klein bent his back and diligently began cleaning the ground, slowly moving closer to the other servants who were still busy. He kept a certain distance, though, to avoid being spoken to and increasing the risk of exposure.
About half an hour later, the servants finished their work and gathered together. They entered Saint Samuel Cathedral and turned towards the side.
"So tiring," one of the servants said, stretching his arms once they were far from the priests.
Klein feigned an expression of being too tired to chat, nodding with an "mm-hmm" but not participating in the conversation.
Soon, they returned to the servants' quarters. This consisted of two large rooms facing each other, filled with many bunk beds. Beside each bed stood a wooden cabinet and a chest.
Klein was momentarily at a loss, unsure whether to enter the left room or the right room.
Fortunately, he was a "Seer." For matters like this that didn't involve Beyonders or the mystical domain, he could rely entirely on his spiritual intuition. Besides, he was still holding the broom. He pretended to slip, covertly performed a "dowsing rod divination," and received an omen that he should head to the right.
