Crack!
Jillchester merely shifted slightly, and the mug of beer smashed onto the round table beside him, creating a mess.
At the same time the gunshot rang out, he didn’t even try to dodge, as if he instinctively saw through the illusion. Amidst the chaos of drunken gamblers either crouching with their heads in their hands or scattering in all directions, his body sprung up like a coiled spring, his gaze locking onto the grim adventurer in a top hat and tuxedo at the entrance.
Gehrman Sparrow... Jillchester’s pupils contracted, and his mouth opened, ready to utter the "Foul Language" originating from the Abyss.
Just then, Klein truly pulled the trigger. A pale gold bullet, as if just fished out of boiling water, shot out, accurately flying towards the "Slaughterer" whose bounty was a full 9,500 pounds.
However, Jillchester merely raised his right hand slightly, spread his five fingers, ignited a pale blue flame in his palm, and unimaginably caught the bullet.
The bullet immediately fell into a "Cage," freezing solid in the pale blue flame. The sunlight that erupted from it was just barely enough to offset all of this.
Beside Jillchester, two figures stood up one after another. One was a short-haired woman holding a pair of guns, the other was a rough man wearing gauntlets.
Clearly, he hadn’t come to Port Toscat alone to find supplies, or rather, he definitely had partners here!
Three Beyonders... and Jillchester might even be Sequence 5... At this moment, Klein almost blurted out something like "Sorry, wrong room."
Attacking a "Demon" couldn’t be prepared in advance; it relied on an unexpected encounter, and there couldn’t be a moment’s hesitation, otherwise the other party would instantly detect the malice and danger.
But in a situation like this, it was hard to say who was in a more advantageous position!
Klein turned around without hesitation, holding his revolver as he agilely and quickly rushed through the crowd in the bar, over the heads of the crouching drunkards and gamblers, towards the staircase leading to the second floor.
Just as he darted in, a pale blue fireball smashed into the edge of the stairs and instantly expanded, exploding.
Boom!
The bottom half of the staircase collapsed, the entire bar shook, and a strong smell of sulfur spread out.
Jillchester and his two accomplices leaped over the remains of the staircase without delay, frantically chasing Gehrman Sparrow.
Thump, thump, thump!
Klein sprinted to the second floor, quickly activating his detection of the "Spirit Body Threads" along the way.
This allowed him to easily find a spacious room with no people. With a twist of his waist and a stomp of his foot, he was about to turn into it, jump out of the window, and escape the bar.
At this moment, Jillchester and his two companions also reached the second floor. Seeing this scene, they silently split up. The former continued the chase, while the latter two entered other rooms on the same side to intercept him from below.
And this was exactly the opportunity Klein was waiting for!
He suddenly half-turned his body, his left hand clad in a completely black glove twisting in mid-air as if gripping something invisible.
The woman with two guns and the man wearing gauntlets, completely unaware of anything unusual, continued their actions, rushed into the other rooms, jumped out of the windows, and went far away without looking back.
Their purpose and action of "splitting up to intercept" was twisted by Klein using the "Twist" of the "Baron of Corruption" into "splitting up to act"!
This wouldn't last long, but it gave Klein a brief one-on-one opportunity!
Thud. Having completed the "Twist," he took the opportunity to fall to the ground and roll into the room, dodging the series of pale blue fireballs Jillchester shot at him.
With constant booming sounds, the building shook as if hit by an earthquake.
Immediately after, Jillchester swiftly pounced forward and chased into the fairly spacious room.
Seeing Gehrman Sparrow skillfully rolling and leaping, refusing to confront him directly, and having excellent control over his emotions, this "Slaughterer" immediately opened his mouth and spat out a word full of filth in his unique Demonic Language: "Slow!"
Everything in the entire room seemed to freeze for a moment. Klein's rolling motion visibly slowed, and it was no longer as smooth.
Jillchester locked onto him without hesitation and uttered another Demonic Language word: "Die!"
Klein's figure instantly stiffened, stopped in place, and then faded and thinned, turning into a paper figurine covered in mottled red rust.
At the same time, he himself, wearing a half-top hat and a black double-breasted suit, emerged by the door. Reaching out his left hand with a sinister black glove, he grabbed the handle and firmly pulled the creaking door shut.
Bang!
The noise outside vanished. The room seemed to have isolated itself, turning into a solid cage.
